Netflix shows off the intro to the new Devil May Cry Animated Series – and it uses Limp Bizkit’s “Rollin”

We may have hit the jackpot in terms of nostalgia and perfectly synced opening sequences for an animated series yet, as Netflix shows off the intro to the new upcoming “Devil May Cry” animated series – and it uses a throwback theme in American nu metal band Limp Bizkit’s “Rollin’” which you have to see play out in the video below!

As one can imagine if you grew up in the Y2K and early 2000’s era, “Rollin’ (Air Raid Assault)” was one of the rap rock band’s signature and highlight tracks – and it goes perfectly with the beautifully animated intro for Devil May Cry that features the franchise’s very own protagonist hot headed protagonist Dante and his aloof and carefree attitude towards hunting demons and saving the world from the forces of evil. It’s very much in character and fitting for both Ips – which both hail from the same period and are both reaching their Silver jubilee celebrations soon.

Adapted from the popular urban fantasy action adventure game series that originally began life as one of the prototypes for Resident Evil 4, Devil May Cry follows the adventures of Dante – a half-human/ half-demon bounty hunter who fights to defend humanity from different demon invasions that threaten life and every living soul on Earth. Created by Hideki Kamiya, the first game was released in August 23, 2001 and became a smash hit and success. It would spawn several sequels, a reboot game, and even its own anime series developed by Madhouse that was released in 2007. Adi Shankar, responsible for developing the highly successful Castlevania series on Netflix, acquired the rights to produce a new animated series for the streaming platform in 2018. Much like Castlevania it will have a “multi-season run”, and will be part of the shared “Bootleg Multiverse” that former series is a part of as well.

Devil May Cry will consist of 8 episodes and will start streaming on Netflix on April 3.
