Apple has introduced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable smartphone. The iPhone Duo has a 5.4-inch outer display designed for one-handed use. Unfolding the device reveals a 7.6-inch inner screen, the largest display Apple has offered on an iPhone. The company said the inner display is 50% larger than that of the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Both screens have the same shape, allowing apps and other content to resize without suddenly changing their layout. The displays also support ProMotion, Always-On display, and up to 3,000 nits of brightness for better outdoor viewing.
Apple added a matte nano-texture finish to the inner screen to reduce glare and make the fold less noticeable. The iPhone Duo will also support the USB-C Apple Pencil later this year for taking notes, drawing, and marking documents.
The phone runs on Apple’s new A20 Pro chip and iOS 27. Users can open two apps side by side, run two windows of the same app, and save frequently used app pairs. Netflix, Zoom, and Slack are among the apps already adapted for its folding screen.
For photos, the iPhone Duo carries 48-megapixel main and ultrawide cameras. Users can take higher-quality selfies with the rear cameras while checking the shot on the outer screen. The device can also stand partly folded for hands-free video calls or recording without a tripod.
Apple said the titanium phone has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. It uses two batteries, one on each side, and provides up to 24 hours of mixed-display use. Fast charging can fill the battery to 50% in around 20 minutes.
