Youngest telco Dito Telecommunity Corp. is shaking up the connectivity landscape by putting up customized services designed for families of at least four members and amateur and professional gamers.

In a recent product launch, Dito chief revenue officer Adel Tamano said the telco is challenging its senior rivals in two segments that have the potential to drive up earnings.

On one hand, Dito is bundling home broadband, mobile data and video streaming in one package called Dito One, which Tamano said is first in the country.

Dito One offers fixed wireless access service with unlimited connectivity for 30 days, delivering a download speed of up to 100 Mbps. This is combined with four mobile SIMs sharing 50 GB of data and subscriptions to streaming platforms BlastTV and Prime Video.

Tamano said Dito One also simplifies registration, as a primary mobile SIM covers the activation of all the others. The kit can be purchased at P2,490, but reloading only costs P1,290 a month.

On the other hand, Dito is capturing the gaming market of 45 million Filipinos with a dedicated modem called Dito Gaming.

The modem supports WiFi 6 and is capable of delivering as fast as 500 Mbps, as Dito will extend network priority to subscribers for a faster connection.

As part of Dito’s premium lineup, the modem costs P8,990, and it comes with unlimited internet for 15 days and P250 worth of credits consumable on gaming platform Steam.

Tamano said Dito Gaming drew inspiration from the telco’s support for the local unit of e-sports giant Team Liquid. Dito is a sponsor of Team Liquid PH, a five-time champion in popular game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Tamano said Dito has the guts to deliver more products given its network capability. Dito bagged eight awards—six outright, two as co-winners—in the Mobile Experience Awards of Opensignal for July.

Specifically, Dito was named the country’s most reliable telco, registering the highest download and upload speeds among all providers.

The telco is also looking for revenue catalysts to sustain the 21-percent hike it posted in the first half, climbing to P11.67 billion, as it tries to nurse a balance sheet with bloated loans.
