The Philippine telco space is rapidly evolving beyond traditional mobile signal and internet services, and during its latest “The Blueprint” event, Globe made it clear that it intends to be at the forefront of that transformation.
Held on May 26 at The Globe Tower, the company unveiled a sweeping lineup of new digital services that signal a broader push into AI, satellite connectivity, fintech integration, cloud storage, and cybersecurity.
Carrying the theme “Keep Going with Globe,” the event served as Globe’s platform for introducing new products and initiatives to help Filipinos stay connected during everyday challenges while making digital tools more accessible across households, communities, and businesses.
Now with that said, here are some of the biggest announcements from The Blueprint that Filipinos should keep an eye on in the coming months.
Starlink connectivity is coming
One of the event’s biggest reveals was Globe’s upcoming Starlink-powered connectivity rollout in the Philippines. With the aim of strengthening internet access in geographically isolated areas, particularly in parts of Visayas and Mindanao where traditional terrestrial infrastructure can still be unreliable.
Globe wants the service to help Filipinos stay connected wherever they are and access opportunities like everybody else. After all, never losing signal can also mean never losing opportunities.
Initial offers are expected to launch in June, with Globe teasing bundled postpaid plans tied to the service and pricing that starts at Php 99.
Globe and GCash want to digitize the palengke
Through its Digital Palengke initiative powered by GCash and GFiber Prepaid, Globe is looking to modernize traditional public markets nationwide.
Goodbye to fumbling with cash and scrambling for loose change in the mornings because this initiative introduces free WiFi connectivity and digital payment systems inside participating palengkes, allowing vendors to access online financial tools such as credit and insurance while enabling shoppers to use scan-to-pay transactions more seamlessly.
Globe launches its own cloud storage platform
Globe Cloud made its first reveal as well as the company’s new cloud storage service aimed at mainstream consumers.
The platform includes AI-powered editing tools, flashback memory features, and additional biometric security protection for sensitive files. Premium plans are expected to start at P39 per month, with Android support launching first before an eventual iOS rollout.
The company described the service as part of its effort to make cloud storage more affordable and accessible for Filipinos in their push to democratize digital tools.
Cybersecurity becomes part of Globe’s enterprise efforts
Can your business not fund a dedicated cybersecurity team yet but wants to participate in the digital economy safely? Well, cybersecurity was another major focus throughout the event as Globe expanded its enterprise offerings through Globe Business and GFiber Enterprise.
The company announced bundled cybersecurity solutions, including vulnerability assessment scans for businesses that may not have dedicated IT security teams. Globe framed the move around the idea that businesses are “never too small to be targeted, but also never too small to be protected.”
Globe also showcased its Google Gemini Enterprise collaboration through GECX, which introduces AI-powered digital concierges and conversational customer service agents for businesses.
Instagram Air keeps users connected even without data
Social media users were also given something new to look forward to through Instagram Air.
The lightweight connectivity feature allows users to continue browsing Instagram even after running out of mobile data. Globe also integrated promo purchases and emergency data access directly into the experience, allowing users to reconnect without leaving the platform.
The company says the feature is designed to help Filipinos stay connected during emergencies, financially difficult moments, or even just during long commutes when a little entertainment goes a long way.
AI Fiesta brings multiple AI models into one platform
Artificial intelligence (AI) took center stage yet again with the launch of AI Fiesta, Globe’s new generative AI platform.
Rather than requiring users to subscribe individually to different AI services, AI Fiesta aggregates multiple AI models into one platform using more affordable “sachet-style” subscriptions. There is no need to fully commit to expensive monthly plans, as users can simply avail of the service when needed.
The platform is designed for students, creators, entrepreneurs, and SMEs looking for more accessible ways to experiment with premium AI tools. One of its standout features allows users to generate responses from multiple AI models simultaneously through a single prompt, encouraging users to compare outputs side by side and decide which best suits their needs or creative vision.
With all that said, many of these services are expected to roll out gradually over the coming months, making Globe one of the key companies to watch as the Philippine tech and connectivity space continues to evolve. For consumers, businesses, and communities alike, these are announcements worth keeping an eye on.
