H2Oh no! A Water Delivery game review

If I got a free burger for every time I’d been terrified of a normal Filipino day turning into a nightmare at night, I’d have two. It’s kinda funny how something so mundane can become so traumatic with the flick of a switch when night falls—but in the Philippines, you can never really tell.

    What’s Water Delivery?

Similar to Hapunan, a game that has been making waves recently, Water Delivery is an indie Filipino horror game developed by Frozen Lake Software. It’s reminiscent of Slenderman from back in the day. Unlike Hapunan, which guides the player through a story-driven horror experience, Water Delivery is an objective-based horror game where—you guessed it—you deliver water.

Here’s the catch: You’d think that nothing bad could happen while making a nighttime delivery on your last route of the day. But things go horribly wrong—quickly.

    How does it play?

The gameplay loop of Water Delivery is simple: You play as a Watery Delivery Boy in its purest sense. You deliver water jugs by the gallon, retrieve the empty ones, get paid, and leave. Nothing too out of the ordinary—unless you’re a curious delivery boy.

If you start poking around, you’ll find strange collectibles, like mysterious keys, eggs, and even a pig’s head. Totally nothing suspicious here.

    Should you try it?

As someone who doesn’t necessarily play horror games religiously but enjoys Filipino indie games, Water Delivery was a fun, short experience with replayability in mind. You’d think that beating it once would be enough—but the more you explore, the more questions arise.

The use of a rural setting at night was the right call, given the richness of Filipino folklore and its eerie implications.

    The tone shift

Water Delivery sets the tone perfectly, easing the player into the night ahead. The initial level gives you a sense of what you can and can’t do while encouraging exploration. Another fun aspect is how the game toys with the player using well-placed jump scares.

That said, the gameplay can feel repetitive at times, and some later sections start to feel like a bit of a chore. But the game’s brevity makes up for it, and with over 11 different endings to hunt down, you’re definitely getting your money’s worth.
