Japanese horror never really lets go of you and this November, one of the most talked-about indie titles is coming back in a bigger way.
Lucas Games has announced the Hollow Cocoon – Special Edition for Nintendo Switch, a deluxe boxed release scheduled for November 27, 2025.
Co-developed by Nayuta Studio and Regista, Hollow Cocoon first gained traction online for its striking visuals and unsettling story. Set in 1980s rural Japan, the game draws from local folklore surrounding silkworm farming and the haunting Golden Princess Legend.
The Special Edition comes in a collector’s box and packs three major bonuses: a full-color art book, an original soundtrack CD, and a retro mini-game keychain modeled after the title’s Showa-inspired 10-yen arcade.
Players take the role of Minato Jinba, a university student who returns to his mother’s hometown after more than a decade, only to find himself ensnared in a web of family secrets, folklore, and suffocating fear. The game features four possible endings, multiple difficulty options, and motion sickness reduction settings—a small but thoughtful feature for horror fans who like to play late into the night.

Hollow Cocoon – Special Edition launches just after its showing at Tokyo Game Show 2025, where Lucas Games is also running a ticket giveaway campaign via its X account (@lggames01).
