    Philippine Startup Week 2024 Puts the Spotlight on Innovative Filipino Startups

    The country’s largest startup conference opened its doors on November 11 at the Blue Leaf Events Pavilion in Taguig City. Now its sixth edition, the Philippine Startup Week 2024 (PHSW24) is a five-day event that runs until November 15 with main events happening in Taguig from Day 1-3 and community events running nationwide from Day 1-5.

    The event is organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in collaboration with Strategic and Collaborative Alliance for Leveraging Ecosystems of Startups-National Capital Region (SCALE NCR). 

    PHSW24 will highlight the top 120 rising tech startups in the country that have been at the forefront of innovation and entrepreneurship. Familiar names include Angkas, Beepo, CloudEats, BillEase, and upcoming startups such as Packworks and Pasajob. Over 150 speakers will be delivering talks on topics such as various startup showcases, funding strategies for startups, leveraging AI and other new technologies, providing a platform for women entrepreneurs, and sustainability in business practices and innovation.

    Notable speakers include Jay Fajardo, Executive Director of Ideaspace and QBO, Dominic “Doc” Ligot, CEO of social impact AI company Cirrolytix, and Carlo Ople, founder of Unbox PH. 

    For the 3-day main conference, attendees should expect more in-depth keynotes and panel discussions, startup pitches, a startup expo, and bizdev opportunities for discovering partnerships and collaborations.

    The last two days of the conference will be dedicated to independently organized nationwide community events which will be conducted by organizations in various parts of the country. There will also be online events for remote attendees. Notable events include Geeks on the Beach in Cebu and TedXWomen talk in Solaire, Manila
