Galaxy Z Flip 6 Review: The Phone That’s All About Fun and Fashion

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 isn’t just another smartphone – it’s a statement piece.

If you’re all about having a phone that turns heads and keeps things fun, this might be your next favorite gadget.

    It’s certainly mine!

    Design and Portability – Your Pocket-Sized Head-Turner

Let’s be real – the design is one of the main reasons to grab the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

This phone folds in half, which not only makes it a cool conversation starter but also makes it super easy to slip into your pocket or bag. It’s got that fun, fashionable vibe, so it can double as an accessory.

I cannot tell you the amount of time I’ve spent window shopping online for accessories for this phone!

FlexCam – Content Creators, This One’s for You!

Now, if you’re into creating content, the Flip 6’s FlexCam is a total game-changer. It’s like having a built-in tripod, making it easy to snap selfies or record videos on the fly. Whether you’re shooting impromptu TikToks or just need your hands free for a quick demo, this feature is a lifesaver.

But, there’s a small hiccup – live streaming apps like Twitch and Streamlabs don’t play nice with Flex Mode just yet. If Samsung can fix that, this phone could be a dream for livestreamers too.

For now, it’s fantastic for photos and videos, but with a few limits when it comes to streaming.

    Performance vs The Fun Factor

Coming from a powerhouse like the Galaxy S24 Ultra, I noticed that the Flip 6 doesn’t quite match up in raw performance or battery life.

But here’s the thing – this phone isn’t about being a workhorse. It’s all about fun. It’s a device that makes you want to play, create, and just enjoy yourself. Being able to use the main camera as a main selfie cam is particularly awesome, making this Tita feel like a “Gen Z .5 Selfie pro shooter”.

Honestly, it’s one of the best phones out there for snapping selfies.

AI Features – The Phone’s Real Highlight

So, what makes the Galaxy Z Flip 6 really standout? It’s all about those AI features.

Take the camera, for example – this thing knows when you’re in low light or when you’re trying to snap that perfect picture, and it automatically adjusts to make sure your photos look good.

Another notable feature is the FlexCam – it’s like having your own personal photographer, making sure you’re always centered and looking good in selfies and group shots.

The battery maintenance also uses AI. It learns how you use your phone and figures out the best way to optimize that battery life. So even if the Flip 6 doesn’t have the biggest battery out there, the AI helps you make the most of it.

    Flip 5 vs. Flip 6 – What’s the Deal?

If you’re wondering what’s new with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 compared to the Flip 5, here it is:

#1 – Tougher Build. The Flip 6 has a stronger hinge and better screen materials, which means it’s more durable than the Flip 5

#2 – Better Cameras. The camera setup has greatly improved (Flip 6’s 50MP vs Flip 5’s 12MP main camera), especially with the AI making your photos look better.

#3 – Performance Boost. While the Flip 6 isn’t a beast like the Galaxy S24 Ultra, it’s got a bit more oomph under the hood than the Flip 5. This means smoother multitasking and better overall performance, especially when you’re juggling a bunch of apps.

#4 – Battery Comparison. Aside from bigger battery capacity (Flip 6’s 4000mAh vs Flip 5’s 3700mAh), the battery life on the Flip 6 is slightly better than the Flip 5, thanks to improved power efficiency using AI management.

So The Crease – It’s Still There

Can I tell you something? Before I got to spend some time with the Galaxy Z Flip 6, I was actually afraid of foldable phones.

I’ve always been a big fan of flip phones ever since it became a trend in the 90’s. There’s just something about flip phones that make you feel fun, confident and empowered.

However, when the foldable phone screen trend started, I was a bit hesitant to get into it because I feel that the screens are so fragile. Hence, my fear of foldable phones.

So, am I still afraid of foldables? Not anymore, but I still have to say that even though I know the Flip 6 is way tougher now compared to its earlier models (have you seen our unboxing?) I still find myself handling it with more care than I do my S24 Ultra.

Okay, let’s talk about the crease. Samsung’s made improvements, but yep, it’s still there. If you’re scrolling or watching something, you might notice it. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s something you’ll have to get used to.

I honestly still haven’t gotten used to it but getting there.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 – My Personal Thoughts

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is a phone that’s hard not to love.

I seriously feel like I’m going to get some withdrawal anxiety when I have to give it back. My vanity has shot up to 100% more and the amount of selfies I have taken with this phone is bordering on shameful.

It’s definitely a phone that makes you feel younger and more in tune with the latest tech. (Paging all Titas!)

The Price – Is It Worth It?

Now, about the price – the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is on the pricier side at ₱70,990 for the 256GB model and ₱78,990 for the 512GB model.

If you’re into style, love taking selfies, and want a phone that’s going to turn heads, the Flip 6 can be worth it.

But if you’re all about raw power and battery life, you might want to look at other options.

The Flip 6 is more about enjoying the moment, being creative, and staying on trend. So if that’s what you’re looking for, the price makes sense – you’re getting a phone that’s not just a gadget but a part of your lifestyle.
