What ‘Titan Tough’ really means after a month of use

A month is enough time for the honeymoon period to fade. By then, scratches start to show, performance slows, and batteries begin to reveal their real limits.

However, after four weeks of carrying the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G, it’s hard not to admit that this phone lives up to its “Titan Tough” promise in more ways than one.

It has a fiberglass back, the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the weight of the Titan Structure that Xiaomi has been proudly talking about. I’ve had it in my bag, pocket, and on more than one occasion, watched it slide off a car seat onto the floor.

The IP68/IP69K certification works like a safety net in the background. When it slips from my grip while I’m juggling coffee and notes, or tumbles off my table as I type on autopilot, I don’t panic anymore. I pick it up and move on. That peace of mind, I’ve realized, is part of durability too.

That resilience was put to the test early on in Mactan, Cebu, where Xiaomi Philippines flew us in for the Redmi Note 15 Series launch held during the Sinulog Festival. Between the coastal humidity, scattered rain, and the dense festival crowd, the Pro+ handled it all.

We took photos as we walked around the city through the noise and bursts of color that filled downtown Cebu. The phone never faltered, even when the air turned misty from passing floats or when we shot under sudden drizzles.

The 200MP AI-powered camera captured the vivid blues of the island horizon to the lively hues of Sinulog street dancers, the detail retention was striking.

Looking closely at this Sinulog shot, we see the stainless steel pots show visible heat stains and wear without looking overprocessed, while the colorful fabric wraps retain texture and depth.

Colors are vibrant exaggerated, and at 57mm with a wide aperture, the slight background blur gives the scene dimension without losing its street context.

Its flexible focal lengths, from 1x wide to 4x telephoto, made it easy to frame portraits, performances, and wide city scenes without losing texture or depth. The photos from that weekend remain some of the sharpest we’ve taken on a mid-range phone, so far.

Performance-wise, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip continues to run smoothly even with constant switching between work apps and social feeds.

Using the Pro+ for both work and personal use easily takes up a third of my day before I hit around 8%. It drains faster than I’d like, but it also charges so quickly that it’s hard to worry. Plug it in for less than half an hour, and it’s ready to go again.

The 6.83-inch All Around Liquid display stays bright even under midday sun, with colors that flatter both video playback and photo editing. While many phones boast loud speakers, the Pro+’s 400% volume boost actually lives up to it, handy when sharing playback clips outdoors.

During a brief conversation with Tomi Adrias, Xiaomi Philippines’ head of marketing, on the sidelines of the launch, he said the focus on durability was shaped directly by customer feedback.

“We define ‘Titan Tough’ as a campaign handle that would talk about the stellar features of the phone, starting with durability, but also we offer very good cameras, powerful batteries, and processor as well,” Adrias said.

After a month, that framing makes sense. “Titan Tough” is about staying consistent through the grind of daily commutes, humid festivals, accidental slips, heavy app use, and rushed charging cycles.

Durability, in this case, is the confidence that the phone will show up tomorrow the same way it did today.
