Entrepreneurial mothers or “mompreneurs” are using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to make everyday business tasks easier, faster, and more organized. Instead of doing everything manually, they now rely on AI to help with planning, research, pricing, content creation, and customer communication.

This is the result of the first Google Gemini workshop held last year together with PLDT Home, Google Philippines, and Madiskarte Moms PH.

At the center of this shift is Google Gemini, an AI tool that can answer questions, generate ideas, write content, and even help build formulas for spreadsheets. It is being used alongside other tools introduced through programs like Gemini Academy, a collaboration among the three organizations.

The mompreneurs are using it as a practical daily assistant.

Princess Alvarez, owner of ISLA Everything Accessories, uses Gemini to help with pricing and tracking her business. She tells the AI to generate Google Sheets formulas, which she uses to compute profits and organize her sales. This saves time and reduces the need to manually build complex spreadsheets. She also shares these tools with other small business owners.

Jenielyn Sicabalo-Nieva of MP Nieva’s Flower Company uses Gemini mainly for research and idea generation. She asks AI to look up trends, customer preferences, and even details that help personalize her flower arrangements. For a movie premiere project, she used Gemini to find information about the cast’s favorite colors and flowers, which helped her team create more thoughtful and customized bouquets.

Mercedita Madrona, owner of Kusinanay’s Food Products, uses AI in messaging apps to help manage communication with customers and support her sales process. Even without a technical background, she has been able to use AI tools to assist in closing deals and handling inquiries.

These examples show a simple pattern in how AI is being used in small businesses.

    Common AI tools they use

    • Google Gemini – for writing, ideas, research, and spreadsheet help
    • NotebookLM – for organizing notes and summarizing information
    • Lyria – for creating audio content
    • Canvas – for drafting content and visuals
    • Pomelli AI – for streamlining day-to-day operations

How they actually use AI in their work

    • Ask AI to generate spreadsheet formulas for pricing and tracking sales
    • Use AI to research trends, customer preferences, and product ideas
    • Get help writing captions, messages, and marketing content
    • Use AI to personalize products based on customer details
    • Rely on AI for quick answers when managing customer conversations
    • Automate parts of their workflow to save time and reduce manual work

For these mompreneurs, AI works like an extra assistant that handles repetitive or time-consuming tasks. This allows them to focus more on designing products, serving customers, and growing their businesses, even while managing responsibilities at home.
