Planning trips is becoming faster and more automated as artificial intelligence (AI) enters travel booking, and Filipino-owned platform Travereel is hoping to help travelers make that shift with a new AI feature called “Vicky.”
Travereel is a video-centric travel social network and booking platform. The app combines short-form travel videos with booking tools, to turn inspiration into actual itineraries without leaving the platform.
The newly introduced AI travel assistant, Vicky, is designed to address what the company calls “planning paralysis,” a common issue among travelers overwhelmed by too many online options. By analyzing user preferences, budget, and trending destinations within the app, Vicky generates customized multi-day itineraries in seconds.
“Travereel was born out of a passion for making your dream trip easy and unforgettable,” said Ricky Sy, chair and co-founder of Travereel. “With Vicky, we are not just a booking app; we are a travel companion that understands your style.”
The feature is integrated directly into Travereel’s reel-based interface. Users who discover a destination through short videos can immediately convert that content into a structured travel plan, complete with suggested stops, accommodations, and activities.
Vicky offers several functions, including personalized daily itineraries that highlight both popular attractions and lesser-known spots. It also connects users to hotels and activities featured in videos, allowing direct booking within the generated plan. Budget optimization tools suggest ways to maximize travel experiences without overspending.
To address group travel challenges, the app now includes built-in group chat and split billing features. These tools allow users to coordinate plans, vote on destinations, and divide expenses for accommodations, activities, and even shopping, all within a single platform.
Travereel is also expanding its role in the creator economy. Travel content creators can earn commissions when users book trips or activities through their videos or through AI-generated itineraries influenced by their content.
The app is available for download on both iOS and Android platforms.
