A few days after Instagram announced its new subscription services, the visual app has officially rolled out Instagram Plus, a paid upgrade that gives users additional ways to customize their experience on the platform.
Instagram Plus is designed for users who want more control over how they share content, connect with friends, and personalize their profiles. The regular Instagram experience will remain free, while the subscription adds optional premium features.
“The Instagram you know and love today isn’t changing and will always be free; this new subscription is simply an optional upgrade for people who want more control, deeper insights, and premium features,” Instagram said.
Instagram Plus focuses on three areas: helping users connect with people who matter, providing more insights into content, and giving more customization options.

For stories, subscribers can use Story Spotlight to give their stories priority among friends, send Super Hearts with animated effects, create multiple story audiences, and extend stories so they stay visible for up to 48 hours.
The subscription also adds more ways to understand story activity. Users can preview stories without reacting, see how many times their stories were rewatched, and check whether a specific person viewed their story through the Search Viewer List feature.
For personalization, Instagram Plus allows users to choose from custom app icons, change their bio font, pin up to six posts on their profile, and post directly to their profile or highlights without showing the content in followers’ feeds.
Instagram said the new subscription is rolling out globally and that more features will be added in the coming months.
