The Philippines sits at a turning point as scams continue to evolve and affect families, workers, and businesses. Online fraud continues using familiar language and channels to convince people to share sensitive information everyday. At the same time, the country is also seeing rapid breakthroughs in 5G, AI, and emerging technologies that can improve public safety, modernize healthcare, and strengthen key industries. This combination of rising digital threats and fast-paced innovation shaped the key conversations at the GSMA Digital Nations Summit Manila.

Across discussions, leaders from telecom, healthcare, venture capital, and manufacturing agreed that the Philippines cannot unlock the full value of these new technologies if people remain hesitant to transact online. Trust needs to grow alongside capability. Digital confidence is now just as important as digital access.

Globe emphasized throughout the summit that network-level Open APIs can rebuild trust by helping verify if a number, SIM, and device match. These APIs also detect unusual changes that signal risk and strengthen login and transaction security without making user experiences complicated.

“Our networks carry the responsibility to protect the people who use them,” said Irah Cainglet, Core Product Development, Platform Management, and Assurance Assistant Vice President at Globe Business. “Every Filipino deserves to feel safe when they log in or move money. Open APIs let us strengthen that protection quietly in the background. Privacy and purpose guide every product we build.”

To drive this shift, Globe is building detailed documentation, user-friendly test environments, and aligned standards to help developers and enterprises adopt these APIs with confidence. “Privacy by design” is central to this approach, guiding how each API is created, what it’s used for, and how data is protected every step of the way.

Technology loses its value when people feel unsafe. This became a clear theme across the summit, where leaders agreed that innovation and trust must move forward together. Any breakthrough, whether in 5G, AI, or cloud adoption, needs secure foundations and responsible data use for it to truly matter to Filipinos.

During the summit, Globe also shared how it supports this balance by investing in secure connectivity for hospitals, warehouses, factories, and remote communities. The company completes rigorous security testing, follows global frameworks, and works closely with enterprises of all sizes as they integrate 5G, AI, and cloud solutions.

Globe believes that exposing telco capabilities through Open APIs transforms traditional networks into intelligent platforms that support trust. Security is built into every stage of innovation. It is not an afterthought. It is part of how progress should work.

“When a business adopts 5G, AI, or new digital tools, its risk landscape changes overnight,” said Marlon Cruz, Business Solutions Consulting Assistant Vice President at Globe Business. “Security has to be built into that journey from the start. We design connectivity, APIs, and cybersecurity to work as one fabric, so the network becomes a platform of trust that keeps hospitals online, factories running, and data protected.”

Globe’s participation in the summit powerfully demonstrates its unwavering commitment to shaping a secure, collaborative, and future-ready digital ecosystem for the nation. By advancing Open APIs, enhancing enterprise connectivity, and championing responsible innovation, Globe is dedicated to empowering Filipinos to feel not just protected but truly confident as they embrace digital services.

“A fortified and trusted environment unleashes transformative opportunities for families, businesses, and entire industries,” said KD Dizon, Head of Globe Business. “It positions the Philippines as a formidable digital leader in Asia, where innovation and security thrive together, driving the nation toward a bold digital future.”
