Big games, small monthly fee? These are the AA/AAA Titles you can play on Game Pass right now (PH Edition, May 2025)

If you’re in the Philippines and subscribed to Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass, congrats! You basically got a buffet of premium games just sitting there, waiting for you to download them. And as of May 2025, that buffet’s looking extra sulit.

Game Pass is stacked with both blockbuster AAA titles and those double-A gems that may not have billion-peso marketing budgets, but absolutely deserve your time. Whether you’re in the mood to shoot aliens, explore beautifully broken worlds, or just vibe in a fantasy landscape, there’s something worth installing this weekend.

AAA titles worth the disk space

These are the big-name, high-production-value games that’ll suck you in and refuse to let go (in the best way):

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – Technically an AA game, but we’re treating it like AAA because it absolutely deserves it. With painterly visuals, turn-based combat that feels like a fever dream, and a surreal French-inspired world where people get “painted out of existence,” this one’s got the style and polish of something way bigger. It’s weird, beautiful, and already feels like a cult favorite.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered – Nostalgia hits hard with this one. The cult-favorite RPG is back with better graphics and modern controls, but still the same chaotic energy (accidentally punching a guard? Yup, still a thing).

Starfield – Still polarizing, still massive. If you love space, choices, and hoarding sandwiches in zero gravity, this one’s for you.

Halo Infinite – Classic sci-fi FPS vibes with updated mechanics and a grappling hook that lowkey changed the game.

Forza Horizon 5 – Not a racing fan? Doesn’t matter. This is an open-world joyride through Mexico, and it feels like a vacation with cars.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – Fly anywhere. No, seriously. The sim lets you pilot over your own barangay if you want.

Resident Evil 3 Remake – Short but intense. And yes, Mr. Nemesis is still terrifying.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Not my favorite Assassin’s Creed but for those days when you just want to raid medieval England and vibe with your raven.

Doom Eternal – For those other days when you’re angry and need to blast demons to a metal soundtrack.

AA titles that punch above their weight

They may not have the marketing money of a Ubisoft or Bethesda game, but these titles bring the goods:

A Plague Tale: Requiem – Gorgeous, emotional, and full of rats. Like… a lot of rats.

The Outer Worlds – Space capitalism satire with branching storylines and deeply sarcastic companions.

Wasteland 3 – Tactical, brutal, and a little bit dark-humored. Bring your moral compass (or don’t).

Remnant: From the Ashes – Post-apocalyptic Dark Souls with guns. Way more fun in co-op.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice – Beautiful, haunting, and not something you play while multitasking. Trust me—headphones on. If you end up loving it (and there’s a good chance you will), the sequel Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is also on Game Pass, ready to wreck you emotionally all over again.

Control: Ultimate Edition – It’s like fighting supernatural forces inside a brutalist building with a flying office chair. Not a personal favorite of mine, but a lot of people love it for the trippy storytelling and eerie vibe so I’m still putting it here for those curious minds. You might just vibe with it more than I did.

Psychonauts 2 – Whimsical but deep. Explores mental health with heart and humor, wrapped in a colorful platformer.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps – This one’s a visual and emotional gut-punch. You’ll cry. It’s fine. We all did.

How to access Game Pass in the PH

Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass are officially available in the Philippines, with monthly subs starting as low as ₱49 (promo) to ₱249.

Pro tip: Sign up now if you haven’t yet! Remember, there’s a 12% VAT set to be implemented on digital subscriptions soon. If Microsoft follows through with the pass-on (like Netflix and Steam), expect that price to go up. Lock in that lower rate while you still can.

Subscribed and Taxed: Will Filipinos keep paying as subscription prices rise?

    You can sign up via:

    ▪️The Xbox official site

▪️The Xbox app (on PC or console)

Download the app, browse through the library, hit install, and you’re golden. You don’t need a console, PC-only users can get in on the fun too.

    TL;DR

If you’ve been ignoring Game Pass, now’s a great time to check it out.

From the newly released Expedition 33 to the nostalgic return of Oblivion, the lineup right now is stacked. Even if you’re on a budget, one subscription gives you access to more games than you realistically have time for (and yes, that’s a good problem to have).

    Happy gaming!
