At P5,999 the OPPO A18 is well-positioned to be a budget media consumption device

The OPPO A18 is meant for the budget conscious, without sacrificing utility.

We have a follow up contestant for 2023’s “best of” budget phone category – the OPPO A18.

It’s as if OPPO conducted a focused group discussion in the budget phone category and listed the most important things consumers wanted — a huge 5000mAh battery, expandable storage , and loud volume for multimedia consumption. These three features really just cater to the mainstream binger watcher who likes to keep a device plugged in without having to worry about overcharging. The phone prevents battery degradation by learning usage habits so you don’t have to worry if you leave this plugged in overnight.

OPPO has introduced a 36 month Fluency Protection to the A18. This means that through a combination of hardware and software adjustments, the device theoretically degrades by 10% after 36 months (3 years) of usage. Of course, the only way to get the most accurate results is through a long term test, which we do not have the liberty of doing here. My only point of reference for OPPO is my A9 2020 model, which I bought with my own money in 2019 and still works fine today.

More on the battery – with 5000 mAh, you can get a standby time of 25 hours with 5% battery life, barring data draining functions.
