HONOR has launched the Robot Phone globally, a smartphone with a built-in motorized camera that can physically move to follow subjects and capture videos.
The smartphone features a 3-axis mechanical gimbal built into the phone, allowing its camera to pan, tilt, and move without requiring a separate gimbal. HONOR said the system uses more than 100 precision components and is backed by more than 100 patents.
The company reduced the size of the mechanical system by 65% while increasing its structural strength by 200%. Its titanium gimbal motor can move at up to 360 degrees per second.
The Robot Phone is also HONOR’s first product under its Cinematic Imaging Partnership with ARRI, a company known for professional cinema cameras.
Its camera system includes a 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 2.7x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view.

The main camera can record in 10-bit ARRI LogC3, giving creators more control over brightness, shadows, and colors when editing videos. HONOR said its AI noise reduction can improve video signal-to-noise ratio by 8 dB, while AI processing supports up to 14 stops of dynamic range.
“Our cooperation with HONOR brings selected elements of ARRI Image Science and professional workflow thinking into a new mobile context, giving creators greater consistency, control, and creative flexibility from capture through post-production,” said Harald Brendel, director of Image Science at ARRI. “With the HONOR Robot Phone, we are taking an important first step in exploring how established cinematic principles can support a new generation of visual storytellers.”
Aside from photography, the phone uses AI to control its camera. Its YOYO Robot Mode can recognize gestures, track people, and automatically move the camera to keep users in frame. Users can also control the camera with hands-free gestures.
The Robot Phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform and has a 7,060mAh battery, 120W wired charging, and 50W wireless charging.
It also has a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1–120Hz refresh rate and up to 6,800 nits of peak brightness.
