HUAWEI is introducing a new smartwatch designed to improve GPS accuracy and training insights, even in areas where signal is weak or lost.

The HUAWEI Watch GT Runner 2, priced at PHP 19,999, uses a redesigned antenna system that turns its titanium frame into a signal booster. The company says this improves GPS performance by up to 50% compared to the previous model, helping runners stay on track in dense cities, forests, or tunnels.

When GPS drops completely, the watch switches to an internal tracking system powered by motion sensors. This system estimates the user’s path based on movement, allowing route tracking to continue without interruption. The feature is developed for runners who train in challenging environments where GPS signals are unreliable.

The Watch GT Runner 2 weighs 43.5 grams and uses aerospace-grade titanium with reinforced glass.

The smartwatch also introduces a real-time lactate threshold tracking feature, which measures exercise intensity while running. This helps users understand how hard they can push without overtraining, a feature typically reserved for advanced athletes and lab testing.

Beyond performance tracking, the device includes heart rate monitoring with up to 98% accuracy, ECG, sleep tracking, and heart rate variability analysis. Battery life can last up to 14 days on light use, or up to 32 hours with continuous GPS tracking.

The Watch GT Runner 2 weighs 43.5 grams and uses aerospace-grade titanium with reinforced glass for durability. It supports both iOS and Android devices.

Pre-orders run from April 17 to 23, bundled with freebies worth up to ₱13,384, including earbuds, extra straps, and a health app subscription.
