PalawanPay, the e-wallet and digital financial services platform of the Palawan Group of Companies, is preparing to expand its virtual card offering with physical payment cards.

Karlo Castro, president and CEO of the Palawan Group of Companies, said the company is targeting a November to December 2026 rollout during a media interview held alongside the launch of the group’s “Palawan for All” campaign in Makati on Thursday, Aug. 20.

The card will come with a fee, although the company has yet to disclose the amount.

The planned card rollout comes as the Palawan Group expands its financial services through its “Palawan for All” campaign, which brings together digital payments, microinsurance, credit, business solutions and wealth-building products.

According to Castro, PalawanPay currently has around 1.8 million subscribers using its virtual card, which was launched in December last year.

Castro said the physical card will offer the standard features expected from payment cards. Its main advantage, he added, will be its connection to the wider Palawan ecosystem, which includes services such as pawning and insurance.

PalawanPay’s virtual Visa card can already be linked to Google Wallet since June this year, allowing users to make payments at compatible terminals, including overseas.

“I personally linked my Palawan Pay Visa card virtually to Google Pay. So I can really pay in terminals and even abroad. Like in terminals abroad, I can actually use Palawan Pay,” Castro said.

Castro also revealed that PalawanPay is a “couple of months away” from launching support for Apple’s mobile payment service, Apple Pay,  which only became available in the Philippines this August 2026.

The group’s PalawanPay e-wallet has more than 23 million users, according to the company. The app supports money transfers, bill payments, QR PH transactions, mobile load purchases and pawn renewals.
