Xiaomi’s upcoming REDMI Note 17 Series will feature a 10,000mAh battery, promising durability and long-term software support for the new lineup.

The battery will use silicon-carbon technology and is rated for 1,600 charging cycles while retaining more than 80% of its capacity. Xiaomi said the battery system is designed to address capacity decline and safety concerns associated with extended use.

The company said the battery is designed to support six years of reliable performance. The series’ six-year “Built for Years” commitment will also cover security patch updates and sustained smoothness, although coverage will vary depending on the model and market.

The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max has received TÜV SÜD certifications covering battery performance, durability and water resistance. Xiaomi said the device passed a 2-meter, 72-hour water-resistance test, alongside certifications covering battery lifecycle, battery durability and mechanical damage resistance.

The phone is also SGS-certified for drops of up to 3 meters onto a smooth granite surface. It carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for protection against water and dust under specified testing conditions.

The new series continues a durability-focused approach seen in previous REDMI Note models. The REDMI Note 7, released in 2019, was the first device in the series to carry an 18-month warranty, compared with the industry’s standard 12-month coverage at the time.

According to Xiaomi, the REDMI Note series has recorded more than 500 million shipments worldwide. The Note 17 Series will also introduce the first Pro Max model in the lineup.
