Dyson has introduced the CameraJet, an electric toothbrush equipped with a built-in camera that detects gaps between teeth and directs precision water jets to clean them.

The device combines sonic brushing with what Dyson calls precision-flossing technology, aiming to make interdental cleaning part of the regular brushing process.
The CameraJet’s camera captures 28 frames per second as users brush. Its software analyzes the images to identify spaces between teeth and triggers a water jet when it detects an interdental gap.
Each water pulse delivers around 0.15 milliliters of water in about 0.1 second, targeting individual gaps instead of continuously spraying water.
The toothbrush also features a sonic motor capable of 245 vibrations per second for brushing.

Instead of requiring users to manually direct a water flosser between each tooth, the device uses what it sees to determine where the water needs to go.

The companion app also allows users to see the camera’s view while brushing, giving them a closer look at areas inside the mouth.
The CameraJet has a 20ml water reservoir built into the device. Its charging dock has a larger water tank that automatically refills the toothbrush when it is placed on the dock.
Dyson said the water system is designed to work at different angles, allowing the precision water jet to function even as users change the way they hold the toothbrush. The device has a replaceable battery rated for up to 10 days of use.
The CameraJet is priced at $499.99 in the United States.
