Online learning platform Coursera has been integrated into ChatGPT, allowing users to access educational content directly within OpenAI’s AI chatbot.
Through the partnership, ChatGPT users can now search, preview, and learn from Coursera’s library of courses without leaving the app. The feature enables ChatGPT to recommend Coursera videos, readings, and modules when users ask about related topics, creating a more interactive and guided learning experience.
Coursera said the integration aims to make education more accessible by combining its academic and industry-backed content with ChatGPT’s conversational capabilities.
“This partnership reflects Coursera and OpenAI’s shared commitment to expanding access to education and helping people everywhere learn, grow, and thrive,” said Greg Hart, CEO of Coursera, in a statement on Oct. 6.
He said the partnership aims to equip millions of people with trusted learning resources that will help them gain in-demand skills and prepare for future jobs.
The Coursera app within ChatGPT is available to all logged-in users, including those on Free, Go, Plus, and Pro plans, outside the European Union.
However, English courses are currently prioritized, with subtitles and dubbing in select languages to follow.
Coursera, which partners with more than 325 universities and companies worldwide, reported over 183 million registered learners as of June 30, 2025.
The partnership makes Coursera one of the first educational platforms to launch within ChatGPT, underscoring the growing role of artificial intelligence in transforming how people learn online.
