Content creators can get political, too: CAC movement takes a stand online

For years, Filipino content creators have been known for tech reviews, gaming streams, financial literacy tips, lifestyle vlogs, and even horror storytelling. But now, a new coalition shows that creators can also take a stand on issues far bigger than algorithms and product launches.

A group of influencers has officially launched Creators Against Corruption (CAC), a grassroots movement using digital platforms to demand government transparency and accountability. The launch event in Pasig comes as public outrage grows over alleged “ghost” infrastructure projects linked to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Carlo Ople, CAC’s lead convenor, stressed that the initiative is about empowering creators to use their influence for good. “Our combined voices will be stronger and safer for everyone. Now is not the time to be fence-sitting or on the sidelines. We are called to be part of this battle against the raging corruption happening in the Philippines today.”

What makes CAC different is its mix of members. It’s not just political commentators or advocacy vloggers stepping up. The coalition brings together tech reviewers, gamers, card collectors, lifestyle vloggers, chefs, and even horror storytellers. By uniting voices across niches, CAC hopes to show that digital influence doesn’t have to stop at entertainment or commerce; it can push for civic change, too.

To formalize their commitment, the founding members signed the CAC Manifesto, lending their names and reputations to the cause. Among the first signatories are:

    • Carlo Ople
    • Chris Tan
    • Marc Santos Gamboa
    • Julia Pineda
    • Gabriel Pineda
    • LJ Reyes
    • Julio Ingco III
    • Sai Montes
    • Joseph Teoxon
    • Rocky Turen
    • Rollie Garcia
    • R. Ty
    • Migo Delfin
    • Chef Martin Narisma
    • Gian Gaite
    • Jigs de Asis
    • Sean Salustiano
    • Rye Icatar
    • AJ Badiola
    • Spart (We the Future)

With creators from such diverse niches putting their names forward, CAC shows a shift in how influence is viewed online. Having an audience today doesn’t just mean shaping consumer choices. It also comes with the choice to use that influence for bigger causes.
