Ever thought of creating a game, but had these thoughts like “I’m not a game developer” or “I don’t even know how to code”?

What if I told you that you don’t need to be a programming genius or a professional to start building a game for yourself? That all you really need is a beginner-friendly platform to unlock your creativity, no technical background required?

Enter Uni-craft, a mobile platform that lets anyone (yes, anyone) build and publish their own game.

Whether you’re into multiplayer games with friends or prefer going solo, Uni-craft’s interface can help you make it. You can build your game from scratch using their tools or choose from pre-designed templates such as obstacle (obby), car racing, platform jump, room escape, gunplay, or even a forest-style sandbox level. It’s a playground filled with possibilities. The best part? You can do it straight from your mobile device.

    What is Game Jam?

Uni-craft has just released Game Jam 3, an exciting event that encourages aspiring game creators to build and submit a game within a set period, no experience required.

Think of a game jam as a creative sprint. Individuals or teams come together to build a game based on a specific theme. For this event, participants can choose Escape, Simulation, Combat, or Storytelling as their entry’s theme.

Here’s a timeline to take note of:

    • Registration + Game Development Phase: June 27, 2025 – July 27, 2025
    • Showcase Phase: July 28, 2025 – August 4, 2025
    • Judging Phase: August 5, 2025 – August 14, 2025
    • Announcement of Winners: August 15, 2025

Additionally, there’s more than just bragging rights if you win! Uni-craft is giving away ₱188,000 worth of prizes, plus a chance to be selected as an Official Partner Creator, which could open even more exciting opportunities for participants!

Why is Game Jam a good place to start?

Making a game can feel intimidating. There’s always that internal pressure of wanting things to be perfect from the get-go. But the beauty of a game jam event, especially one hosted on a beginner-friendly platform like Uni-craft, is that it encourages you to simply start.

So why is Uni-craft’s Game Jam 3 a good entry point for creatives and curious first-timers like you?

▪️Don’t know how to code? No problem – The tools are visual and intuitive. You don’t need to write complex lines of code. You can choose from templates, select from the assets available, test, and tweak to your heart’s content.

▪️Templates and themes – Uni-craft’s Game Jam 3 offers themes that help narrow your focus and avoid feeling overwhelmed. You can choose from available templates on the platform to help design your gameplay. Feeling bold? You can start from scratch, too. The world’s your oyster, really.

▪️Working solo or with friends – Whether you’re a lone wolf or want to team up with friends, you’re free to create however you like. Game Jam is an inclusive space where everyone’s creativity can shine.

▪️Finish not perfect – Starting a game is hard, but finishing one can be even harder. A quote from a friend that I often go by: “Finish not perfect.” It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just needs to be complete and shared. It’ll help you figure out what works and what doesn’t for your next game. It’ll help you grow.

▪️Create it for you – At the end of the day, ask yourself why you want to create a game. If you can’t find a reason, just make one for the most important player: you. Make a game that you want to play. It may not be award-winning, sure. It may not be the next R.E.P.O. or Stardew Valley, but it’s a game you’ll enjoy both creating and playing.

    Build and be bold

Uni-craft has shown us that you don’t need a PC to try creating your own game. Everything you need is already at your fingertips: your phone, your imagination, and that final bit of courage to get started.

Game Jam 3 by Uni-craft is more than just a competition. It’s a celebration of creativity, a community space for dreamers, and a rare opportunity to turn your ideas into something playable, shareable, and real.

So if you’ve ever dreamed of crafting a world, telling a story through gameplay, or just wanted to dip your tippy toes into something new, this is your sign.

What are you waiting for? Create and participate in Game Jam 3! Download Uni-craft on Google Play Store and Apple App Store and let your creativity fly!
