As a kid growing up in the 80’s and 90’s I always associated the G-SHOCK brand with ‘affordable luxury.’ As I got older and started earning my own money, the G-SHOCK brand sits among my daily drivers. I own a GA-2000 carbon series (pictured below) made of resin and carbon which I use in bike rides and water sports.

This got me thinking. Wouldn’t it be great to have a G-SHOCK design with a steel bezel and face? I was pleasantly surprised to find the new G-STEEL series released late last year.

Casio announced the G-STEEL GM-2110D Metal Series, marking a new chapter in the ongoing TOUGH LIKE YOU campaign.

While G-SHOCK is usually known for its rubber strap watches, this collection spotlights all-steel timepieces to merge the brand’s trademark toughness with a sleek, modern aesthetic suited for everyday wear.

The GM-2110D Metal Series is engineered for durability, with a shock-resistant structure housed in a stainless-steel bezel. The meticulously forged and polished octagonal bezel blends hairline and mirror finishes, while the glass fiber-reinforced resin inner case enhances G-SHOCK’s renowned resilience and shock absorption.

Available in five vibrant colors—sky blue, navy, lime green, orange and silver—the GM-2110D timepieces feature a lustrous IP finish achieved through advanced metal plating and color-coating. The inset dial rings, with similar metallic finishes, add a striking three-dimensional effect, giving each watch a brilliant and sophisticated appearance that complements diverse styles.

The GM-2110D Series integrates a versatile analog-digital display, 20-bar water resistance, and a suite of functional features including a 1/100-second stopwatch, five daily alarms, and a double LED light for enhanced readability in the dark.

This is quite an affordable watch that sits alongside other “affordable luxury” watches like some of the Seiko 5 series and the Orient Kamasu (which I also both have!). The GM-2110D Metal series retails for P18,480 SRP at select authorized G-SHOCK stores nationwide and at CASIO’s online store in the Philippines.
