All that Lord-slaying and trash-talking with your SEAbling opponents can really make you hangry (hungry + angry), so a delicious meal from your favorite fast food chain IRL is the next best thing to turn the day around.
But how could we not have foreseen it? Science backs the notion that both eating and playing video games produce happy hormones, or should we call them “joy” hormones in this context? These two activities trigger the release of dopamine (for motivation and reward), endorphins (for stress relief and euphoria), serotonin (for mood regulation and contentment), and oxytocin (for social wellness).
Case in point: Jollibee, the country’s biggest fast food chain, and the Philippines’ most-played mobile game, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), have teamed up to launch GameJoy x MLBB Combos, meals that come with a physical hero card collectible and a PIN that lets players unlock limited-edition in-game rewards.
The heroes featured in the collectible cards are Nana, Claude, Wanwan, and Clint.
Meanwhile, the mystery rewards customers could win in the game include skins, emotes, fragments, and avatar borders, as well as the highly sought-after MLBB All-Skin Unlock. For the noobs, an MLBB All-Skin Unlock grants players access to all hero skins in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
There is no official “All-Skin Unlock” feature or service in the game. However, collecting every single skin natively would easily cost $4,000 to $6,000+ (₱248,000 to ₱370,000+) or approximately 200,000 to 300,000+ Diamonds (the game’s currency).
Not bad for an investment of ₱169, right? The gamer-friendly meal sets include five options: the Yumburger, Jolly Hotdog, Special Cheesy Yumburger, Crunchy Chicken Sandwich, and Original Cheesy Yumburger. Each combo is served with regular fries, a regular drink, and a Peach Mango Pie.

“In many ways, this just makes sense for both of us. These two iconic brands, both embedded in Filipino culture, are finally coming together in a way that feels natural and highly anticipated by everyone in the community,” said Kian Heng, business development executive at MOONTON Games, the international video game developer and publisher of MLBB.
He shared that the promo has been months in the making. “These are moments when we reviewed even the finest details of the execution and the mechanics, making sure everything would be seamless for players as well as Jollibee customers,” he added.
The GameJoy Combos were launched just in time for the 10th anniversary of MLBB in the Philippines.
“It’s really a huge milestone for us because we have continued to build communities, create memories, and become part of Filipino culture, similar to Jollibee,” said Kevin Acuña, Head of Game Publishing Business Development and Partnership at MOONTON Games. “Whether it’s after school, after work, after a basketball game, or even after ranking up in MLBB, Jollibee is part of those shared experiences.”
“With GameJoy Combos, we wanted to create a fun and rewarding experience that brings together great food, gaming, and everyday moments of joy,” said Dorothy Ching, vice president of marketing at Jollibee Philippines. “This collaboration allows more people to enjoy Jollibee in a fresh and exciting way, whether they’re gaming, bonding with friends, or simply treating themselves.”
During the launch hosted by popular esports caster Odin, fan-favorite game streamers Jayat Gaming, Hans, Coach Wolf, Lux Gaming, and Fuego Gaming defeated the Jollibee Fam mascots Jollibee, Yum, Hetty, Twirlie, and Popo in a fun-filled best-of-three exhibition game. As one player pointed out, their bug-eyed opponents should not take the loss to heart because the mascots only had four fingers.
Apart from GameJoy Combos, Jollibee and MLBB previously released the “WOW BIDA” Battle Emote, a limited-time in-game item that allowed players to use a Jollibee-themed emote in MLBB matches.
The GameJoy Combos are available at Jollibee stores nationwide from May 20 to Aug. 19.
