OPPO deepens Google Cloud partnership to power next-gen AI system

OPPO has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate the rollout of its next-generation AI Operating System (AIOS), aimed at building smarter and more privacy-conscious smartphones.

The collaboration, announced at the Google Cloud Export Summit in Beijing, focuses on two key pillars, namely “Memory Symbiosis” and “Privacy Protection.”

These form the backbone of OPPO’s AIOS roadmap, designed to turn smartphones into intelligent companions that understand and anticipate user needs.

In simple terms, Memory Symbiosis allows a phone to remember things the way its user does. The system quietly keeps track of daily activity, such as messages, photos, or notes, and uses that information to offer timely help, like suggesting a file before a meeting or recalling past interactions.

Powered by Google Cloud’s AI, this “second brain” works hand in hand with the user, who stays in control of what the device remembers or forgets.

At the core of this system is AI Mind Space, built on Google’s Gemini model, which organizes and retrieves information across apps and devices. Supporting it is OPPO’s Private Computing Cloud (PCC), developed with Google Cloud’s Confidential Computing technology to ensure data usability and privacy.

OPPO said the partnership also promotes an open AI ecosystem through its PersonaX memory engine and Agent Matrix framework, enabling different AI agents and apps to work together more seamlessly.

Both companies said they aim to advance a privacy-centered AI infrastructure that bridges device and cloud intelligence, allowing users to benefit from more personalized, secure, and connected digital experiences.
