Is this the Garmin Killer?
Say hello to the TREX-3 from AmazFit. I’ve been using this watch daily since I got it over three weeks ago and I must say I’m FLOORED by the value this watch packs. For a fraction of the price of a Garmin, you get very similar features for only P12,790 pesos.
I primarily use these types of watches for my indoor rowing workouts and outdoor bikes. But hey, other smart watches can do the same thing right?
Well first off, the TREX-3 has a long-lasting battery. I only need to charge this once every three weeks with regular use. It’s also significantly larger at 48mm with a 2000 nit brightness LCD, perfect for my outdoor rides when the sun is very high up. Also unlike other smartwatches it is rated at 100 meters with its military build so it essentially is also a watch meant specifically for freediving. It includes other trackers such as blood oxygen levels, stress levels, heart rate, and sleep tracking.
AmazFit pairs and syncs with the Zepp app. That means you can also sync it with your favorite fitness apps like Strava. It also comes with a neat AI Assistant feature that lets you speak basic commands like reply to text messages and turn on the stopwatch.
VERDICT
If you’re looking for a longer-lasting smart watch with a military build, this watch is perfect. If you’re a freediver looking for a dive watch rated more than 40 meters, this is something you may want to check out. The huge 48mm face is perfect for underwater visibility with your mask refraction.
The TREX-3 as well as other AmazFit watches are available online and in-store at Digital Walker.
