CHERRY is back to making phones, debuts with the solid AQUA S11 PRO

When I turned the device on for the first time, I was quite elated to hear CHERRY’s iconic beeping alert for Android devices. CHERRY is back, baby! On to the review.

If you’re like me, having been around the tech desk for a while, one of the industry lows was when CHERRY left the mobile phone market a number of years ago to focus on IoT products like security cameras and smart appliances (their portable projector is awesome). Well, it’s 2024 and we’re all bouncing back from the pandemic — CHERRY is bouncing back and has released a pretty solid flagship with the AQUA S11 PRO. The tagline says it all: SUPERB GAMING PERFORMANCE.

At its very heart, the S11 PRO stands tall among the other gaming phones. In its core is the Helio G99 processor, which is really meant for gaming. It’s the same processor we find in devices such as the realme Pad 2 and the realme 11 which are touted to be battery efficient and gaming-centric.

The CHERRY AQUA S11 PRO boasts a sleek design that exudes elegance. Its 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display delivers stunning visuals with vibrant colors and crisp details, ensuring an immersive viewing experience whether you’re streaming your favorite content or conquering the latest mobile games. With its slim profile and ergonomic design, this device feels comfortable in hand, making it ideal for extended gaming sessions or multimedia consumption on the go.

The AQUA S11 PRO comes with a 64MP main camera and a 16MP front camera. We’re including some samples. The shot of the water tank makes use of the S11’s 4x zoom.

    Battery and Charging:
Say goodbye to battery anxiety with the CHERRY AQUA S11 PRO’s robust 5000 mAh battery, which provides all-day power to keep you connected and productive from morning to night. With its 33W fast charging technology, you can quickly recharge your device and get back to what you love without missing a beat. Whether you’re gaming, streaming, or working on the go, the CHERRY AQUA S11 PRO ensures that you stay powered up and ready for whatever the day brings.

    NFC:
Enhancing convenience and connectivity, the CHERRY AQUA S11 PRO features NFC technology, allowing you to make secure payments, transfer files, and connect with compatible devices with a simple tap. Whether you’re making contactless payments at your favorite store or sharing files with friends, NFC makes everyday tasks effortless and hassle-free.

    Who is this for:

If you’re looking for a new gaming phone that won’t break the bank, do consider the AQUA S11 PRO. Apart from having a solid Helio G99 processor, it comes with a ton of storage at 256GB ROM. You will also be pleased to know that the device also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and stock wired earphones. The S11 PRO sells for P7,999. The AQUA GR sells for P11,999. Check it out here.
