Small businesses that often change products, prices, or packaging may no longer need to order labels in bulk and wait days or weeks for delivery.
Technology company Epson Philippines Corp. has introduced the ColorWorks C4050, a compact color label printer designed to enable businesses to print labels on demand, in small batches, and as needed.
For many micro, small, and medium enterprises, labeling is not just about compliance. It shapes how customers see a product on the shelf or online. But traditional label printing often requires minimum order quantities, which can lead to excess inventory, outdated designs, or added storage costs.
“Small businesses operate in environments where change is constant,” said Masako Kusama, president and director of Epson Philippines Corp. “With the ColorWorks C4050, we’re giving them the power to adjust quickly, look professional, and stay in control of their production, no matter where they are in their growth journey.”
The C4050 prints full-color labels with sharp text and barcodes, which can help brands stand out and make product information easier to read. Businesses can update labels for seasonal offers, limited editions, or regulatory changes without discarding unused stock.
Designed for tight workspaces, the printer fits on countertops and comes with a 2.7-inch color LCD screen for ink monitoring and job control. An optional WiFi feature allows printing from multiple devices.
The printer uses UltraChrome DL pigment inks, which are resistant to water, smudging, and fading. This makes it suitable for food, cosmetics, healthcare products, and other items that may be refrigerated or handled frequently.
The C4050 supports glossy, matte, synthetic, and continuous labels, allowing one machine to serve different product lines. For cafés, home-based food sellers, online shops, and small manufacturers, the ability to print only what is needed could reduce waste and improve cash flow while keeping branding consistent.
