Scrolling with Purpose: Inside Globe’s #GlobeOfGood movement

There’s a different kind of energy when purpose and innovation meet, and Globe’s media event at their award-winning, fully renewable-powered Globe Valero Telepark was the kind of gathering where you could feel it in the room.

What started as a simple slogan used for employee volunteerism, “Globe of Good” has now grown up. Officially launched as a full-blown brand under Globe’s master brand architecture, Globe of Good is now the umbrella for the telco’s entire sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. And if this event is any indication, Globe isn’t just doubling down, they’re inviting everyone to join in.

Not just a brand, but a promise

Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer, Yoly Crisanto, said it best: Sustainability isn’t something Globe does. It’s part of who they are. From powering their headquarters with AI-assisted energy-efficient tech, to investing in digital inclusion and hunger alleviation programs, it’s clear the company isn’t here for the performative stuff.

Among the flagship efforts is the Hapag Movement, originally launched post-pandemic to address involuntary hunger. Now, it’s evolving to take on the more complex issue of child stunting—focusing on the crucial 0-1,000 day window in a child’s development. Why? Because hungry kids can’t learn, and falling literacy rates in the country are real.

    Everyday kindness, gamified

Possibly the biggest applause moment came when Go Give was introduced—a new feature inside the GlobeOne app that lets users earn “hearts” for advocacies every time they use their mobile data. Yup, your doomscrolling can now support causes like:

    ▪️Animal welfare (PAWS)

    ▪️Women’s digital literacy (Project Pearls)

▪️Indigenous youth education (Philippine Eagle Foundation)

    ▪️Medical training (PGH Medical Foundation)

    ▪️Child welfare (World Vision)

You don’t even have to open your wallet, just open your app. And if you want to take it a step further, there’s even a Go Give TikTok challenge running until June 30 to get more people in on the action.

    Impact comes in layers

From online safety trainings integrated into the DepEd curriculum, to content filtering systems that have blocked over 417,000 domains with child exploitation content, Globe’s initiatives span the big picture and the gritty details. They’re also investing in upskilling teachers and enhancing education access through partnerships with Khan Academy and tech donations to public schools.

And yes, they’re fighting piracy too, because a healthy creative industry means a future where Filipino stories thrive.

Fine dining for a cause? Yes, please.

Meanwhile, Globe Platinum isn’t sitting on the sidelines. The Gastronome Giving series, an elevated dining experience that raised over ₱600,000 for the Hapag Movement in just 11 days, is back. This year, it’s going nationwide, making generosity taste even better.

    The heart behind the hashtag

A heartfelt panel capped off the event, featuring Team Globe of Good ambassadors like actress Gillian Vicencio, doctor-content creator Adrian Insigne, and beauty queen Samantha Lo. Each one shared raw, moving stories about why they signed up (and stayed) with the Globe of Good initiative. For many, it was about finding a way to truly give back, not just in press releases or glamor shots, but in real, boots-on-the-ground work.

“It’s never too late, and no act of kindness is too small,” Samantha Lo said, recalling her time as a volunteer cashier at a community market that gave families the dignity to choose their own groceries.

One small act, one Globe of Good

What Globe has done is make doing good easier, whether it’s through your GCash points, your mobile data, or your dining reservation. And in a world where most of us feel overwhelmed about how to help, maybe that’s exactly the kind of frictionless kindness we need.

So go ahead. Stream your K-drama, send that meme, load that promo. And know that every click might just be part of something much bigger.

Because with Globe, even your everyday can be a way to give.
