Who is this for: The mid-range kingmaker is back for its encore. This phone is meant for those who have a strict budget for a sub-20k phone. It sells for P17,999 (12GB+256GB) and P19,999 (12GB+512GB). Early bird pricing is at P14,699.

    PRICE LIST:

    • Redmi Note 14 (4G) – P8,999 (8GB +128GB) P9,999 (8GB + 256GB)
    • Redmi Note 14 5G – P13,999 (8GB +256GB) P16,999 (8GB + 512GB)
    • Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G – P17,999 (12GB+256GB) P19,999 (12GB+512GB)
    • Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G – P22,999 (12GB+256GB) P24,999 (12GB+512GB)

The past year was a great run for Xiaomi. With the high end Xiaomi 14T and the Redmi Note 13 series reigning supreme in the mid-premium markets, Xiaomi begins 2025 with yet another kingmaker – the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G. I have spent several days with the top of the line device from the Redmi 14 Series – a spectrum that covers (and conquers) several market segments, giving value in features where it truly matters.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G enters the scene with an enticing promise: high-end features at a price point accessible to the masses. Xiaomi has packed this device with cutting-edge technology, redefining what mid-range smartphones can offer while catering to the needs of modern users.

I’m not sure what it is about this newer breed of phone camera designs but the “center bezel look” for a camera system has been hyped up as of late. We’ve seen this in high end models like HONOR’s Magic 6 and now it has trickled down to the Note 14. From an aesthetics standpoint this is much better in overall design, together with the stock case from Xiaomi that completely wraps around the camera, compared to the previous version. I do have to say, Xiaomi really nails it with the stock phone cases. The dark gray rubber case is perfect for corner drops without taking too much real estate space. Because it is rubber, there’s some tactile feel compared to gel cases that can easily slip from your palm, or get oily.

A Camera to Capture it All

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G continues the tradition of its predecessor with the 200MP Ultra-Clear AI Camera System. This flagship-grade sensor, paired with advanced AI features, positions the phone as a powerhouse for photography enthusiasts. Whether you’re capturing intricate details or shooting in low-light conditions, the large 1/1.4” Samsung HP3 sensor and 2.24µm super pixels ensure clarity and vibrancy.

Moreover, the phone’s camera is bolstered by Xiaomi’s Imaging Engine, which integrates technologies like End-to-End AI Remosaic and Smart-ISO for sharper images and quicker processing. The nearly zero shutter lag ensures you never miss a fleeting moment, and advanced editing tools like AI Erase Pro and AI Film give users professional-level creative freedom right on their phones. These AI tools from Xiaomi were seen as downloadable features in other models but as it is already 2025, Redmi has a number of these AI features built-in already.

    Durability Meets Elegance

Xiaomi dubs this device “the strongest Redmi Note yet,” and the specs back that claim. The All-Star Armor Structure incorporates multi-layer shock absorption, reinforced design elements, and dual Corning Gorilla Glass. The front sports Gorilla Glass Victus 2, offering twice the drop resistance of its predecessors, while the back is shielded by Gorilla Glass 7i for robust scratch protection.

For those worried about life’s unpredictability, the IP68 water and dust resistance is a standout upgrade. With 17 custom components and rigorous airtightness testing, this phone isn’t just splash-proof—it can handle submersion and everyday exposure to the elements. Plus, Wet Touch 2.0 technology ensures smooth operation, even in damp conditions.

    Performance and Visuals That Impress

Powering the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra processor, designed for efficiency and performance. Built on a 4nm process, this chip handles multitasking, day-to-day apps, and even light gaming with ease. Xiaomi has also paired it with a 6.67-inch 1.5K display featuring a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate and eye-care technology, delivering a flagship-level visual experience.

In benchmark tests, the phone performs at par – “just as advertised” with an Antutu score of 669640 offering consistent output without significant throttling, even under stress. While gaming fans might not get ultra-premium performance, titles like Mobile Legends run at 90fps, proving the device’s capability to handle casual gaming scenarios.

    Battery Life: Efficient but Modest

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G maintains a 5,110mAh battery—a reliable capacity for everyday use. While the battery life has seen a modest improvement over its predecessor, achieving around 11 hours and 39 minutes of active use, it might not wow heavy users. Charging, however, gets a practical touch: the phone supports 45W fast charging, enabling a 0 to 63% charge in just 30 minutes and a full charge in slightly over an hour.

    The Price is Right

From its AI-driven photography capabilities to its focus on durability and usability, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is packed with thoughtful innovations. Features like Battery Health 3.0 and Instant Power-On at 0% Battery add convenience and longevity, catering to users’ real-world needs.

What makes this phone stand out isn’t just its specs—it’s how Xiaomi has carefully engineered it to cater to a specific audience. With a target demographic of style-conscious, tech-savvy young professionals aged 20-35, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G strikes a balance between performance, durability, and affordability.

Xiaomi has yet again proven that premium experiences don’t always require premium prices, making the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G a compelling choice for anyone looking to level up their smartphone game without breaking the bank.
