The PhilSTAR Tech team just got back from a huge product unveiling for the 6th generation Fold devices from Paris, France. As sponsor of the 2024 Olympic Games, Samsung has really gone out of its way to showcase the new hardware with a lot of fanfare.

Samsung Galaxy Fold 6: A Productivity Powerhouse

The Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 is designed with productivity in mind, featuring incremental hardware upgrades from its predecessor. However, Samsung has placed a significant emphasis on the AI software capabilities that set this device apart from the competition.

One of the standout features of the Fold 6 is the Pro Visual Engine, powered by AI. This includes:

Photo Assist: Advanced photo editing tools that take advantage of the Fold 6’s expansive screen.

Portrait Studio: A fun tool for creating AI-generated portraits with various themes, perfect for enjoying with friends.

Instant Slow Mo: This feature uses AI to add frames and create stunning slow-motion videos for a cinematic experience.

In terms of performance, the Fold 6 is equipped with a next-generation Snapdragon 8 processor and a 1.6x vapor cooling chamber to enhance the phone’s lifespan by managing heat effectively. This means you can enjoy gaming with Ray Tracing support or stay productive for longer periods. The 7.6-inch display boasts a vibrant 2,600 nits when unfolded, ensuring an immersive visual experience.

Design-wise, the Fold 6 features a sharp edge design and a black highlight around the screen area, giving it a premium feel when folded. The device also packs a 4,400mAh battery and comes with a 25W travel charger. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB models.

Samsung Galaxy Flip 6: The Content Creator’s Dream

The Samsung Galaxy Flip 6 is tailored for trendy content creators. Its cover screen features a 3.4-inch 60Hz display, and when opened, the full screen measures 6.7 inches with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

The Galaxy AI leverages the FlexWindow cover screen to provide suggested replies to messages, health app updates, music controls, and an array of app widgets, enhancing the device’s functionality.

For content creators, the Flip 6 introduces **Auto Zoom** in FlexCam, which automatically finds the best framing for your shot by detecting the subject and adjusting the zoom accordingly. This ensures that you capture both your friends and the stunning backdrop, all hands-free.

The Flip 6 is powered by a 4,000mAh battery and also includes a 25W charger.

The Galaxy Flip6 starts at P70,990 for the 256GB model and P78,990 for the 512GB model. The Galaxy Fold6 starts at P105,990 for the 256GB model, P113,990 for the 512GB model and P130,990 for the 1TB model.

Samsung’s Galaxy Flip 6 and Fold 6 are set to redefine the foldable phone market with their enhanced AI features, improved design, and powerful performance. Whether you’re a productivity enthusiast or a content creator, these devices offer something special to elevate your mobile experience.
