The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) emerged as among the big winners at the recently held Alpha Southeast Asia Awards after taking home a record 11 accolades.  This reaffirms its expertise and reliability in delivering a diverse range of innovative banking services to Filipinos.

The Alpha Southeast Asia Awards, presented by Alpha Southeast Asia magazine, is a highly acclaimed award-giving body that recognizes outstanding achievements and leaderships in the financial and corporate sectors across Southeast Asia. It is the first and only institutional investment magazine focused on the region.

“These awards demonstrate our commitment to service excellence and customer obsession in all aspects of our operations. At BPI, it has always been our mission to provide customer-focused solutions to enhance the experience of our clients and support their growth,” said TG Limcaoco, BPI President and CEO. “We thank the Alpha Southeast Asia Awards for recognizing our efforts in striving to build a better Philippines—one family, one community at a time.”

BPI secured four major recognitions from Alpha Southeast Asia’s 18th Annual Best Financial Institution Awards, after it was named the Best SME Bank in the Philippines for the 11th time in 18 years, reflecting its ability to serve the needs of Small and Medium Enterprises across all its branches.

It was also honored as the Best Trade Finance Bank in the Philippines for the 10th consecutive year, recognized as the preferred local bank of choice of large local corporates, SMEs, and multinationals with extensive manufacturing operations in the country. This milestone is supported by the bank’s wide network of over 800 branches and kiosks nationwide and one of the highest bank ratings among local banks in the country.

BPI Capital Corporation, BPI’s investment banking subsidiary, was recognized as Best Equity House in the Philippines for the third consecutive year, and was also named Best M&A House in the Philippines, highlighting its leading presence in the investment banking space in the country.

The bank also received three accolades from Alpha Southeast Asia’s 17th Annual Treasury & FX Awards 2024, which further solidifies its position as the preferred domestic FX provider to the local corporates and financial institutions in the domestic interbank FX market in the country. It was honored with the “Best FX Bank for Corporates & FIs” award for the seventh time in a row, Best Corporate and Treasury Sales and Structuring Team, and Best FX Bank for Structured Products: Commodities, Credit, Equity, FX, and Multi-Asset.

Moreover, the bank was recognized with four accolades at Alpha Southeast Asia’s 15th Annual Fund Management Awards 2024. It was named the Best Overall Asset & Fund Manager, its 8th win in nine years; and was also honored with the titles Best Asset Manager (Equity, Fixed Income, Index Equity & Open-Ended Funds), Best Fund with the Optimal Sharpe Ratio, and Best Fund Manager for Pension Mandates & Private Retirement Schemes. These achievements underscore the capability of BPI Asset Management and Trust Corporation to offer a range of premier investment solutions and funds, including money market funds that perform at the upper end of the industry average today.
