The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) said services of the government’s eGovPH app have been restored following a temporary interruption caused by a surge in user activity.

The DICT said in a statement that the disruption placed “significant demand” on system capacity, affecting access to certain services on the platform. Technical teams immediately responded, allowing affected services to be restored shortly after.

To address the increased demand, the agency said it is undertaking enhancements to strengthen system capacity, improve performance and ensure reliability during periods of high usage.

The outage comes amid concerns raised during a recent Senate hearing over the funding requirements needed to sustain digital government services.

The DICT said it is coordinating with the Department of Budget and Management and other agencies to support long-term resource planning.

The eGovPH app is among the government’s flagship digital initiatives, designed to streamline access to various services through a single platform.

The platform has now recorded over 40 million downloads and provides access to more than 100 services.

These include transactions from PhilHealth, Social Security System, Pag-IBIG Fund, National Bureau of Investigation clearance processing, Department of Foreign Affairs passport scheduling, and Land Transportation Office services, along with business permits and various national and local government transactions
