The realme 15 Pro 5G is the latest successor in realme’s mid-range line. Historically, the number series has always been a hit as it balances true performance with price. The 2025 refresh follows this tradition because it offers a number of in-demand premium features as a practical daily driver for shooting, play, and productivity.
Aesthetics and performance

At its core, the realme 15 Pro 5G is powered by a 4th generation Snapdragon 7 4nm SoC. Compared to its previous 3rd generation ancestor, the big changes are in NPU performance, which makes it a good base for on-device AI functions and of course, overall performance. We’re looking at roughly 30% improvement across the board in CPU and GPU performance compared to the previous generation.

Aesthetics is up front and center with the realme 15 Pro 5G. The design doesn’t stray too far from previous iterations, with the curved screen remaining intact (great for those who struggle tapping or selecting text on edges) and the pulse light making a comeback – something you either use, or not. It’s come to be useful for call notifications in silent mode (no vibration) and for groufie camera countdowns.
As with the previous chipset, the realme 15 Pro 5G can run all modern games, especially with GT mode turned on. Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, Call of Duty Mobile, and other triple A mobile games will run fine. In terms of connectivity, akin to its name, the phone supports both 5G connectivity with dual SIM, and also WiFi 6, which is a boon since more manufacturers are making this technology available on their routers. The device does not come with eSIM support but you can always buy the eSIM converter from SMART or Talk N Text to convert one slot into an eSIM slot.

AI everything
As someone who has been using this series since the realme 11 Pro 5G in 2023, I will say that the camera system has always been one of the best all-around cameras given that this is a mid-range smartphone. The Sony IMX896 camera is 50MP wide and 50MP ultrawide (16mm) but it also boasts a 50MP front camera.

With all the talk about AI, realme has enhanced the 2025 refresh with a better camera and AI image processing. Over the past two weeks I was shooting some scenery from Berlin to Tagaytay and I noticed while shooting landscapes, a small pop up on the screen would suggest I try the “AI Landscape” feature. For me, this feature greatly complements Portrait mode for people as the former has now become my default setting for scenery. AI Landscape seems to be most effective in gloomy weather as my shots from Tagaytay and rainy Berlin were enhanced without the need for me to manually post-process anything.

Taking AI to the next level, the built-in AI image editor can manipulate images using text or speech prompts. For instance, I edited the photo below saying “change the background to outer space with a colorful nebula” and it gave me this.

I also have more examples, generating assets from Star Wars and Transformers.

There are other AI functions from the camera suite such as glare remover, reflections remover, AI eraser and unblur, and AI ultra clarity for upscaling.
AI Loop is another multi-tasking feature that comes with realme UI 6.0. Similar to the share button but with less clutter, you can drag photos, files, and other media to the edge of a screen and a loop of contextual apps will appear. You can customize these apps under Settings but I prefer to leave it blank to let the AI recommend respective apps. For instance, dragging a photo to the AI Loop allows you to choose your favorite social media app to open and post your media. For instance, if you drag a photo on top of the Instagram app, it lets you choose between posting a reel, a story, or a regular photo post. The selection depends on what apps you have installed on the device.

The package, the partnership

For this release, realme has partnered with Fujifilm and Hollyland for a very tempting creator package. This promotion highlights two things: that phones with good cameras are worthy to have photos printed, and that true content creators will always buy a wireless mic as a primary accessory. The Fujifilm Instax mini Link 3 is fun to use. A quick pairing via Bluetooth lets you print your best shots from the phone wirelessly and stick to your fridge or corkboard. The Hollyland Lark A1 is a decent set of two mics that pair with the phone via USB-C. Hollyland is known for their high-quality mics, especially with connectivity. Using the A1 as an external mic doesn’t lag or chop your audio, which is very apparent when editing video. If you are a creator, you are saving some money with this purchase.

Verdict
The realme 15 Pro 5G is a no brainer. It’s a phone series I would recommend every year for the budget conscious but informed consumer. It gets everything done in your daily digital life, from games, to social media, to photography, and it won’t hurt your wallet. Perfect for middle managers and up who are comfortable with AI image editing features.
