As this is my very first post for PhilSTAR Tech, I think it’s only fitting for me to say, “Hello, World!” to everyone as my greeting!
(If you are not familiar with the phrase, it’s been a tradition in the computer programming industry for a newbie or aspiring programmer to be able to print or display the words, “Hello, World!” as their first ever computer program. Interesting fact, right?!)
So let me introduce myself — My name is Lia and I’m just your regular geek/nerd who loves to write and talk about technology and its application in our daily, mundane life.
As a part of the PhilSTAR Tech family, here are some of the topics I will be writing about often and I do hope that everyone will find them interesting, informative and entertaining!
Gadgets and Quirky Tech
Aside from reviews of the usual gadgets, I’ll be highlighting some of the most unusual or quirky tech inventions that may not be mainstream but are definitely fascinating and humorous.
Japan, Japan, Japan!
If there’s one thing that rivals my obsession for gadgets and technology, it would definitely be anything related to Japanese culture.
Anime, food, fashion, the country, their tech — name it and I probably would have something to say about.
Gaming
I’m also an avid gamer. I love video games. I love games with amazing stories. I love Indie games. I love AAA games. I love video games, period. If you’re a gamer, let’s talk!
Geek Culture and the Internet
Do you know what ‘memes’ are? Do you know what VTubers are? Ever wondered why your kids or the younger generations are saying, “Rizz” or “POG” or “monkaS”? Don’t worry, I’m here. I may be “Tita” age-wise, but I’m very young at heart and I’m here to help translate the strange language our younger gen is speaking.
And lastly, Local Online Finds
I love shopping and I love online shopping even better.
Every now and then, I will be sharing with everyone some local tech finds I see from Shopee, Lazada, and whatnot. They could range from cute accessories, to just simple gadgets that can make our lives a whole lot easier!
So, that’s it for now and I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts and tech news with you all.
If anyone out there has anything to share on the topics I mentioned, please feel free to reach out to me! I’d love to hear from you!
