GIFT GUIDE: Digital goods you can buy without leaving the house!

Let’s face it.

While the holidays are great and festive, with parties every where and people brimming with Christmas cheer, going around the Metro is a Nightmare Before Christmas.

Traffic is heavy. Malls are full. Gas prices are insane.

Do we really want to be out and about, scurrying around looking for gifts for our loved ones? I mean, it’s not really our fault for doing our Christmas shopping last minute, you know? Even though every year, we tell ourselves that we’re going to do our Christmas shopping early and yet we still don’t.

Nope, definitely not our fault.

(Okay, fine, it IS completely our fault but that’s besides the point)

Online shopping is always an option nowadays, but you’d have to wrap up the gifts and then deliver the gifts to your friends. And that would still require traversing the carmageddon that is EDSA, especially if you’re a Southie with friendships with North people and vice-versa!

But fret not, my dear, because I am here to suggest to you 7 digital goods you can buy from the comforts of your own home and have them delivered straight to your friend’s email!

#7 – Steam Games or Steam Digital Gift Cards

For your PC gamer friends, you can head on over to Steam and buy them a digital copy of that game they’ve been eye-ing. For you non-gamers out there, Steam is video game distribution service and storefront. In layman’s term, it’s a place where you can buy games and it also acts as a library of games of sort.

There are thousands of game titles that you can choose from so expect to spend some time browsing through the catalogue.

If you don’t have any idea of what games your friend might like and would prefer not to drown in game titles, you can always give a Steam Digital Gift Card instead. Let them have the freedom to choose a game for themselves!

#6 – Console Game Specific Gift Codes

Now if your gamer friend is a console gamer, you can gift them console specific gift cards to add credits to their digital wallet so they can purchase games. There are gift codes available for the following gaming platform: PlayStation, XBOX, and Nintendo. You can get these gift codes from the Datablitz Digital Store.

#5 – Game Specific Gift Cards

So you’re gamer and you want to convince a non-gaming friend to play a game with you? Gift them a subscription or online currency of the game you’re playing. Now they definitely don’t have a reason not to join you in the gaming world!

Datablitz Digital Store has the digital codes for the following games: Blizzard Games, Final Fantasy XIV Online, ROBLOX and Minecraft.

#4 – Lazada/Shopee Gift Cards

For the non-gaming population, you’ll be happy to know that there are digital goods available to you, too! For local shopping, Lazada and Shopee apparently have their own version of Gift Cards.

#3 – Amazon eGift Cards

If you have relatives abroad and you want them to know that you haven’t completely forgotten about them, Amazon eGift Cards are always a great choice. If you have an Amazon account, you can easily send them an Amazon eGift Card via the Amazon website. Now if you don’t have access to an Amazon account, you can also purchase Amazon eGift Cards from the Datablitz Digital Store.

#2 – iTunes Gift Cards

For Apple-loving, iOS-using family and friends, they may appreciate iTunes credits so they can buy their apps of choice, music, or rent movies and TV shows from the iTunes store.

#1 – Apple Store Gift Cards

Now if you’re feeling extra generous, you can gift someone an Apple Store Gift Card that they can use to buy Apple products at the Apple PH website.

While the charm of hand-wrapped gifts and the joy of personal visits bring a special kind of warmth, sending a virtual reminder in forms of digital goods and tokens can also serve as a meaningful way to show them that we think of them amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life. In this day and age, we gotta be practical, you know.

Remember, it’s the thought that counts! Happy online shopping!
