Lucasfilm and Production I.G’s upcoming anime series, “Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi,” is set to premiere on Aug. 5, 2026, exclusively on Disney+ Philippines.
The eight-episode limited series was announced during a dedicated panel at the Los Angeles Convention Center as part of Anime Expo 2026, where supervising director Kenji Kamiyama, director Shunsuke Tada and producer Hitoshi Ito also unveiled the show’s trailer and teaser poster.
The Ninth Jedi is the first title under the new Star Wars: Visions Presents banner, which expands select stories from the Star Wars: Visions anthology into longer-form series.
The story continues after the events of the animated shorts The Ninth Jedi and The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope. It follows Lah Kara as she trains under Margrave Juro and joins a small group of Jedi-in-training on a mission to rescue her father while continuing her journey to become a Jedi.
The series is directed by Shunsuke Tada and written by Mitsuyasu Sakai, with Kenji Kamiyama serving as supervising director. Executive producers include James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez, Josh Rimes, Justin Leach and Mitsuhisa Ishikawa, while Hitoshi Ito and Kanako Shirasaki serve as producers.
Returning English voice cast members include Kimiko Glenn as Lah Kara, Andrew Kishino as Juro, Masi Oka as Ethan, Patrick Seitz as Homen, JP Karliak as Gramps and Simu Liu as Lah Zhima. Neil Kaplan also reprises his role as The Narrator.
New additions to the English cast are Feodor Chin as Gennoh, Young Mazino as Nawaam, Chase Sui Wonders as Tafflah and Keone Young as Kwana.
The original Japanese cast also returns, led by Chinatsu Akasaki as Lah Kara and Tetsuo Kanao as Juro, alongside Akio Otsuka as The Narrator.
