Acer is expanding its presence in the growing handheld gaming market with the launch of the Predator Atlas 8, a new portable gaming PC powered by Intel’s latest Arc G-Series processors.

Displayed at its booth in this year’s Computex in Taipei, Taiwan, the Predator Atlas 8 marks the entry of Acer’s premium Predator gaming brand into the handheld segment, following the company’s earlier Nitro Blaze handheld devices.

Atlas 8, combines PC-level gaming performance with a portable form factor designed for gamers who want to play beyond the desktop setup. The handheld runs on Windows 11 and supports Xbox Game Pass, allowing users access to a wide range of PC titles and gaming services.

It is powered by  Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor along with Intel Arc B390 graphics, which support ray tracing and Intel XeSS 3 AI-powered upscaling technology for smoother gameplay and improved graphics performance.

The Predator Atlas 8 features an 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, Variable Refresh Rate support, and up to 500 nits brightness. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC coating.

For cooling, Acer equipped the handheld with a dual-fan system that includes what it claims is the first metal AeroBlade fan used in a gaming handheld. The company said the cooling setup helps sustain performance during longer gaming sessions.

It supports up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x memory and up to 1 TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD storage. Connectivity options include Thunderbolt 4 ports, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a UHS-II microSD card reader. It also packs up to an 80 Wh battery.
