Agora, Inc. a leader in real-time engagement technology, has unveiled a new Conversational AI SDK that’s designed to help developers bring voice-driven AI experiences into their apps. By integrating with OpenAI’s Realtime API, this toolkit makes it easier to create AI-powered interactions that feel more natural and intuitive, enhancing how users engage with AI across various applications.

According to Tony Zhao, CEO and Co-Founder of Agora, real-time conversational AI is the next big leap in making AI useful and accessible. “With our Conversational AI SDK, developers can introduce natural voice interaction into their apps, utilizing OpenAI’s conversational intelligence along with Agora’s reliable real-time audio streaming,” Zhao said.

The new SDK taps into Agora’s intelligent routing and ultra-low latency network, which handles 60 billion minutes of real-time interactions monthly in over 200 countries. This infrastructure ensures seamless, human-like voice interactions with OpenAI’s GPT models, regardless of the environment. Features like AI echo cancellation and background noise suppression are included, making voice processing more accurate and reliable.

Samuel Lim, CEO and Founder of Grepp, a company already using Agora’s technology, noted the benefits of integrating real-time AI into their learning platform. By adding AI-driven voice assistants, they’re able to enhance personalized learning experiences and expand their services globally.

This SDK is versatile, allowing developers to build AI voice agents for various industries, from customer support and education to gaming and wellness. Yun Zhang, CEO and Co-founder of Wyze, shared how Agora’s technology is helping their IoT platform introduce real-time voice interaction to AI-powered smart devices.

For Agora, this partnership with OpenAI isn’t just about technical integration—it’s about unleashing creativity. As Zhao puts it, “Whether it’s a 24/7 customer support agent or an app that helps students practice language skills, the Conversational AI SDK opens up new possibilities that were unimaginable a few years ago. It’s an exciting time, and we’re thrilled to work with OpenAI to push the boundaries of what’s possible.”

This development is especially relevant for the Philippines, where AI adoption is already high. With 86% of Filipinos incorporating AI into their work—well above the global average—Agora’s SDK could be a key tool in helping more people in the country integrate AI into their daily routines and professional lives.
