Samsung has launched two new Galaxy A series phones held last week at a Tagaytay resort. At the Galaxy Summer Getaway: Create Awesome event, Samsung welcomed the arrival of two of its best mid-range phones, the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G just in time for the summer.

With the previous models already a smash hit, the Galaxy A55 5G now comes with more premium features minus the premium price tag. Coming in at Php 24,990 (8+256GB model), the Galaxy A55 is now wrapped in an aluminum frame with new features coming from Samsung’s flagship lineup such as enhanced night photography, display, and security. The Galaxy A35 5G on the other hand will retail at Php 20,990 with 8+256GB. The A55 5G has a 32MP front + 50MP main with 12MP ultrawide and 5MP macro camera setup. For the A35 5G, the camera setup is 13MP front + 50MP main with 8MP ultrawide and 5MP macro.

The A55 5G now takes better nighttime and low-light shots thanks to the phone’s AI-powered Image Signal Processing. Both phones also have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and video digital image stabilization to keep blurry shots and videos at bay. On the display side, the new A-series phones have a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a fast 120hz refresh rate and Vision Booster which improves display visibility and color reproduction.

Those who are concerned with security will be glad to know that the Samsung Knox Vault is now carried over from the flagship phones to the A55 5 and A35 5G. The Knox Vault can protect vital user data such as PIN codes, lock screen credentials, patterns, and passwords. Up to four generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades will be available for the phones as well as five years of security updates.

In a series of activities hosted by Samsung for members of the vlogging and media community, new features of the Samsung A55 5G were put to the test such as pool-based activities to demonstrate the phone’s IP67 water resistance as well as hardware and software photography features.

The phones will be available for purchase starting March 18 along with exciting product freebies such as a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds FE worth Php 5,490 and a Travel Adapter worth Php 1,190 with every unit bought from March 18 to April 18, 2024. Available colors are Awesome Ice Blue, Awesome Lilac, and Navy.
