realme goes to Davao to take the world “up close”

From picturesque landscapes to mouthwatering dishes, there are tons of reasons why Davao city is the “crowned jewel” of Mindanao—a truth realme got to witness firsthand.

Celebrating its fifth year anniversary, realme flew to Davao City to launch its Mastershot Photowalk series powered by its most recent smartphone with a 200MP main camera, the realme 11pro+ 5g.

The photowalk, followed by a tour of the Malagos Chocolate Museum, gave fans a close up view of the authentic beauty of Davao wildlife and nature conservation.

The camera’s AI Scene Enhancement feature paired with the SuperiorOIS camera is a boon for photo walks. Street photographers can zoom up close with no trouble seeing clear details with the 2x and 4x zooming options. The OIS hardware feature built into the camera allows for hardware image stabilization so you avoid blurry images, especially when zoomed close and pressing the shutter button.

“Na-enjoy ko rin yung experience ng may nakikita kang ibang texture, ibang lighting, at may kasama kang tao–’Yung nagshoshoot ka pero hindi ka mag-isa,” lifestyle and celebrity photographer Stephen Capuchino said.

Photowalk attendees also got to experience the device’s new camera features such as the Street Mode option, where the user can experiment with different filters.

“For me, it’s about experiencing the camera, the tool. And to try it out in a space na conducive to creativity. Basically, they’re encouraging the people to be creative—and I love that,” said local street photographer Miguel Lisbona.

    For capturing the moment

The tour within the grounds of Malagos Garden Resort allowed attendees to get a close-up encounter with colorful flora and fauna.

“I would recommend this phone for specific activities like travel, family gatherings. May wide lens for that one and the selfie camera is also good,” Capuchino said.

Selfies are immensely popular among Filipinos, and the 11pro+ 5g’s 32 megapixel Sony Front Camera does get the fine finish result. While the beauty effect is seen to need more improvement, Capuchino does not see it as a downside.

“Sometimes kasi yung mga leading brands natin, masyadong heavy yung filter. This one—hindi siya gaanong ka-aggressive,” He added.

Lisbona carried the same sentiment, saying that Realme has made a product accessible to people who want to “experience the flagship sensor” in a mid-range phone.

“Realme wants to cater to that segment, and the bottomline is really their creativity. They want to encourage people to experience it para ma-enhance pa ‘yung creativity [nila],” Lisbona added.

Moreover, Capuchino said that realme’s contribution in the mobile photography arena is the gradual yet sure innovations through its products.

“Hindi siya nagmamadali na magbigay sa atin ng something new na magiging fad lang. Yung binibigay niya sa atin ay something na magagamit mo agad,” He said.

To top off the Davao trip, realme also hosted the Fanfest 2023 at SM Lanang Premier, where fans got serenaded by The Juans and local band Tatot Music.

Davao is the second-leg of this year’s realme Fanfest, which launched in Clark, Pampanga.
