realme C75 reviewed: a toughie at only P7,829

Who is this for: The realme C75 is meant for people with a hard budget of less than P10,000, looking for a phone with a decent camera, slick aesthetics, and decent performance. They prioritize longevity and durability over top performance.

The realme C75 is the latest entry in the competitive smartphone space. Amidst the marketing hype of being one tough cookie to crack (we heated it up in a hot box), this phone is meant for workhorse daily tasks with a long lasting battery and a camera that is actually quite decent.

    One tough C

The realme team claims durability is the main reason you will want to buy this phone. This phone is a certified beast when it comes to water and dust resistance, boasting IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications. Here’s a quick breakdown:

    • IP6X: Complete dust-proofing, ensuring no tiny particles get through.
    • IP66: Resistant to high-pressure water jets—think sudden downpours or outdoor splashes.
    • IP68: Can handle submersion in water up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes.
    • IP69: Survives high-temperature, high-pressure water blasts.

This ruggedness is reinforced by ArmorShell™ Protection and military-grade drop resistance, making the Realme C75 the go-to choice for those who need their tech to keep up with their lifestyle. And with its SonicWave Water Ejection feature, any lingering moisture is quickly expelled, giving you extra peace of mind. It’s no surprise that the C75 is the first smartphone to earn the TUV Rheinland Rugged Certification.

The SonicWave technology is quite similar to a sonic cleaner, but used at a different frequency. When your phone is soaked, realme Labs has added the water removal feature which you can use by turning the volume up to 400% and turning on the feature. The phone will emit a thumping noise that dislodges water droplets from the phone.

After punishing the phone with steam from the hot box, the C75 issued a usability warning because it was too hot. This powered down many of the features and asked me to wait for it to cool down. This is a safety mechanism to preserve the phone’s life. Condensation that get stuck inside the camera lens can be dislodged using dessicant exposure for roughly 20 minutes.

Battery Life That Goes the Distance

The 6,000mAh battery on the Realme C75 is a game-changer, delivering up to 24 days of standby time. The realme team claims that the battery retains 80% of its capacity thanks to its longevity-focused design even after years of use. We have no way to verify this but our past realme devices (we have reviewed higher end realme units) are still chugging along with battery above 95% after 2 years of use.

The C75 comes with a 45W SUPERVOOC charger. For a budget phone, it is super cool that it also comes with 6.5W reverse charging means you can even help a friend out when their device runs low.

    Performance That Handles It All

The realme C75 is powered with a MediaTek Helio G92 Max Processor. It’s a budget phone, so this should do fine with daily tasks. We have to set expecations with gaming — relatively smooth gaming is stable at 60fps for titles like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang with AI Boost 2.0.

    The screen boasts a 90Hz FHD+ display.

The Realme C75 offers 8GB of RAM, expandable up to 24GB with Dynamic RAM Expansion, allowing for smooth multitasking even with multiple apps running in the background. With 256GB of internal storage expandable to 2TB, you’ll have plenty of space for everything from apps and photos to videos and files.

The realme C75 is now available online and at stores. You can check out their Shopee link here.
