Jayvee’s Note: If you were growing up in the 90’s, blackouts were a normal occurence and at that time, having a “dirty” electrical connection wasn’t surprising. Tech was not too advanced then and it was actually fairly common to have desktop computers “blow out” from power surges unlike today. Since that time, I’ve gone through two or three APC UPS units for my desktop computing because during a blackout, an extra 10-20 minutes was a boon in a world where we did not yet have cloud saving. Today, tech is so much better — it’s more resilient to these anomalies. But it doesn’t mean that you should put your P100,000 gaming rig at risk. I think these gaming UPS devices are good insurance — and hey, it’s also an AVR.

Schneider Electric has officially launched the APC Back-UPS Pro Gaming in the Philippines, marking the company’s first uninterruptible power supply (UPS) device specifically designed for gamers. With Filipino gamers frequently encountering power interruptions that disrupt gameplay and threaten the safety of their gaming equipment, this UPS aims to provide a robust solution, ensuring uninterrupted gaming sessions and protecting valuable rigs from power issues.

Abraham Lim, Vice President of Schneider Electric Philippines’ Secure Power and Industrial Automation Business, highlighted the significance of this launch for local gamers. “The APC Back-UPS Pro Gaming is more than just a power backup; it’s a shield against the unpredictability of power surges and outages that can severely impact gaming performance,” he said. “With this advanced UPS, gamers and streamers in the Philippines can now experience seamless gaming without the constant worry of power disruptions.”

The APC Back-UPS Pro Gaming boasts several key features tailored to the needs of modern gamers:

    • Real-Time Power Status Monitoring: The patented reactor circle provides up-to-the-minute updates on battery and power status, allowing gamers to stay informed and ready for any power anomalies.
    • Customizable RGB LED Lighting: The device features twelve RGB LED lights, which can be personalized to match any gaming setup, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.
    • Enhanced Visibility: The 160-degree slant design ensures that the UPS’s status indicators are visible from any angle, with lighting alerts that pulse during power irregularities.
    • Comprehensive Power Protection: With a 1320W output capacity, the UPS includes four surge + battery backup outlets, two surge-only outlets, and three front USB ports for convenient recharging of gaming accessories. This setup guarantees continuous power and protection for essential gaming devices.
    • Design Options: Gamers can choose between two color schemes—Arctic White or Midnight Black—to seamlessly integrate the UPS into their gaming environment.

One of the standout features of the APC Gaming UPS is its Sinewave Power capability. This technology combines surge protection and Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) with battery backup, offering the most stable and smooth power protection available. This ensures that gaming rigs not only perform optimally during power interruptions but also enjoy an extended lifespan due to reduced risk of overheating and equipment damage.

The APC Back-UPS Pro Gaming is compatible with various gaming consoles and provides extended runtime to ensure that gamers have enough time to save their progress during power outages. For instance, it offers 35 minutes of runtime for a Nintendo Switch, 11 minutes for a PlayStation 5, 10 minutes for a gaming desktop, 15 minutes for an Xbox Series X, and 20 minutes for a gaming laptop.

Furthermore, the UPS carries the Green Premium™ label, reflecting Schneider Electric’s commitment to environmental sustainability. This label signifies that the product meets the highest environmental standards, with compliance to the latest regulations, transparency in environmental impacts, and a focus on circular, low-carbon products.

In conclusion, the APC Back-UPS Pro Gaming by Schneider Electric is more than just a power backup; it’s an essential tool for serious gamers in the Philippines, providing both protection and performance while aligning with the latest environmental standards.
