    Cybersphere Philippines 2023 promotes government and private sector collaborations for cybersecurity and cloud computing

    Cybersphere Philippines 2023 held a two-day event filled with cybersecurity discussions from DICT, CICC, PNP, NBI, Interpol, GCASH and other private and government agencies as they come together to fight cybercrimes and ensure that the country is scam-free and protected from cyber frauds and threats.

    Held on September 5-6, 2023, at Shangri-La The Fort, it was attended by private and government stakeholders. Organized by APAC EXPO Pte Ltd with the full endorsement and support of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, PNP Information Technology Management Service, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the Tourism Promotion Board (TPB), Cybersphere was launched to present a focused platform for ICT industry as well as international cyber security and cloud solution vendors, for experts and thought leaders to meet and share their experiences and exchange knowledge.

    According to Apac Expo’s Managing Director, Mr. Andrew Marriot, “The Philippines is at the start of the route in shaping a strong national ICT infrastructure coupled with good cybersecurity reciliency and get on a large-scale cloud technologies adoption”.

    The market potential is enormous and the rapid development of these areas of the ICT market is inevitable. That’s why we at APAC EXPO Pte Ltd are here to collaborate and share our know-how,” Mr. Mariott said.

    “We are happy to note that decision-makers from DICT and related IT agencies plus IT security personnel from the private sector have also assembled at the conference to see the sights of the latest technologies in building their required ICT infrastructures,” he added.

    At the opening ceremony of Cybersphere, the CICC, together with Scam Watch Pilipinas, other telcos, fintech organizations and several government agencies has launched the National Scam Watch Movement for a multilayered approach to combat cyber scams in the country.

    The two-day program focused on three major tracks on Cybersecurity, e-governance, and ICT Infrastructure and Connectivity discussed by industry leaders and experts. Each was composed of sub-topics which were conferred through a panel discussion at the end of each session. 

    Also, at the Cybersphere Philippines 2023, Pebbles Sy, Chief Technology and Operations Officer, GCash shared how they continue to innovate towards an improved customer experience and safety by proactively partnering with government & other organizations to fight cybercrimes.
