As power bills continue to rise, a lot of homeowners are looking into alternative sources of energy.

Netenergy Renewable Group (NRG) has launched the SolarEdge Residential Battery ecosystem. The launch event was held last August 19 at Gallery Miranila in Quezon City. The SolarEdge home power system is an integrated solution with three major components such as the Home Hub Inverter, Home Battery, and Home Backup Interface.

    SolarEdge product lineup

All three components work together by optimizing photovoltaic (solar) power generation and storage capacity resulting in increased energy savings and independence.

Due to the increase of fire incidence from substandard or misconfigured systems, SolarEdge has built the system with safety features in mind. The SolarEdge SafeDC and Rapid Shutdown Power Optimizer is compliant with the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) of 2017. In the event of critical situations such as grid failure or inverter shutdown, the system will reduce DC voltage to 1V to prevent high DC voltage. The company’s Sense Connect technology and international standards-compliant Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter also makes the products compliant with several safety regulations that include continuous monitoring of electrical faults, automatically shutting down power flow, and active fire-prevention safety measures.

The highly efficient DC-coupled SolarEdge Home batter can provide up to 9.7kWh of battery capacity. This is the equivalent of running a 1.5HP air conditioning unit for 8 hours. Up to three batteries can be connected per converter giving a total of 29.1kWH of backup power. The SolarEdge Home DC-coupled technology can gather and store more energy for the home compared to older AC-coupled technology. With the mySolarEdge app, users can track, monitor, and control their home solar system usage for optimal energy savings and reduced carbon emissions. Various components of the SolarEdge have a minimum of 10-years warranty, making it one of the longest warranty periods in the local market. For its introductory price, SolarEdge is making the system available for under Php500,000.

SolarEdge Home is designed to harvest more energy from the sun with its DC-coupled technology, storing more energy in the battery to power the home, or provide longer critical backup during potential grid outages. Managed from a single mySolarEdge app, homeowners can smartly track and control their home solar usage, energy savings and carbon emission reduction.

SolarEdge is one of the leading global smart energy technology companies. The Nasdaq-listed clean energy solutions company was founded in Delaware in 2006. Their products are sold in 140 countries around the world.
