I’ve always believed in the saying, ‘Third time’s the charm’.

You see, the first phone I reviewed when I joined the PhilSTAR Tech team was the Infinix NOTE 30 VIP Racing Edition. While the phone was great, it was a limited edition model therefore it was hard to find at that time, more so even now.

The second Infinix phone I had the pleasure of meeting recently was the Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G, and while that phone was also an amazing phone, I was still looking for something more.

Now we have here, in my company for the third time, is another Infinix phone – the NOTE 40 5G.

And I must say, this is my favorite phone from the brand so far.

Be still my beating geeky gamer heart!

One look at the box of the NOTE 40 5G and you know that it’s made for gamers.

As an official sponsor of the MPL Philippines, Infinix has really clicked with the mobile gaming community. To honor this partnership, the NOTE 40 5G packaging features an exclusive skin for Esmeralda from Mobile Legends on its box sleeve.

Ultra fast gameplay with 5G Speeds FTW!

Gamers can experience an enjoyable, seamless and lag-free gaming session with the NOTE 40’s Dimensity 7020 5G chipset. No need to worry when you have to switch from one app to another while in the middle of a game.

Like usual, I tried out my daily games of Cookie Run: Kingdom and Honkai Star Rail on the device and I was not disappointed with the performance.

And because of the Infinix x MLBB collab, I decided to download Mobile Legends: Bang Bang for the first time and tried playing it on the phone, too.

I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth the gameplay was. So if you’re an ML:BB player reading this, you’ll be happy to know that this phone is a great choice if you’re looking for a phone to play on.

    Other Top-tier features

Aside from the Dimensity 7020 5G chipset, the NOTE 40 5G also has several features that will make even non-gamers satisfied.

    Immersive Display

The NOTE 40 5G has a 6.78 inch bezel-less display. Its AMOLED screen has a refresh rate of up to 120Hz ensuring smooth animations in games and movies, and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080×2436 that can deliver crisp and vibrant images.

    Super-sized RAM and Storage

Go ahead, open another app. And another. The NOTE 40 5G can handle it with up to 24GB of extended RAM and a whopping 512GB of storage.

Non-Stop Power for gaming and other activities

No more  battery anxiety with the NOTE 40 5G’s 33W All-Round FastCharge. It can charge up your phone super-fast, and with 15W Wireless MagCharge, you can power up wirelessly too.

Do you like to take photos?

If you happen to be a little bit of a shutterbug, the NOTE 40 5G takes clear and vibrant photos with its 108MP camera. I loved how easy it was to take photos with its AI Cam mode.

Where to buy YOUR NOTE 40

Are you ready to make the NOTE 40 5G yours? If yes, then you’ll be happy to know it’ll be available via official Infinix e-commerce stores on May 23, and in physical stores offline on May 24.

Whether you’re looking for the supercharged 5G version or the 4G model, here’s where you can find them online:

NOTE 40 5G – Available for a very affordable price of just PHP 12,999, you can purchase the NOTE 40 5G on Shopee or Lazada. However, if you’re lucky, you can also catch an exclusive deal on the TikTok Shop where the starting promo price is just PHP 9,999!

NOTE 40 (4G) – Get the reliable performance of the 4G model for only PHP 9,499. You can also purchase from Shopee, Lazada and the TikTok Shop.

To buy or not to buy?

With all things said, the Infinix NOTE 40 5G is definitely a game-changer in the under 13k budget for phones. Whether you’re a gamer or just want a reliable, feature-packed phone that won’t empty your wallet, the Infinix NOTE 40 5G is an excellent choice and a very stand out option.
