Having to impress Gen Z might be a daunting task, since keeping up with what’s trendy is their inherent skill. As the new young generation (move over millennials!), they dictate what’s cool and what’s not.
The terms “green flag,” “red flag,” and “beige flag” are widely used by them. So, if you’ve been labeled a green flag, then you’ve checked every box in Gen Z’s long list of acceptable behaviors.
But what is a green flag to them? Essentially, it’s just someone they can count on, someone who shows up.
For our digital natives, what is a green flag smartphone? PhilSTAR Tech used the realme C67 for a day at work to find out.
Long battery hours, short charging time
As a northie, it is a delightful struggle for me to travel down all the way to the south for my many media coverages. Longer travel time. Always on my feet. But the real pain is when my phone decides to die on me before I could even finish my coverage.
But with the realme C67, I was able to finish a day without having to find a socket in the middle of a coverage. I traveled from Antipolo to Taguig, Taguig to Pasay, and Pasay to Antipolo with 30% of battery still left on the phone.
When I arrived home, I was able to do some more scrolling on Tiktok and music-listening. I charged it by 9:25 p.m with only 27% left and by 10:36 pm, it was already at 98%.

Elevated camera experience
Aside from keeping memories, taking photos is my alternative to writing notes. Sometimes, a presenter just likes to keep things fast and taking notes might come as counter-productive.
The realme C67 uses a Samsung HM6 Sensor. It has up to 3x In-Sensor Zoom that you can use when in standard photo mode. It’s most useful for when you’re trying to close in on something that is far away from where you’re at (like taking photos of slides). Lossless quality is guaranteed.
The 8MP front camera takes decent photos, but do not expect clear-cut details. If you’re just a casual selfie-taker, then it is sufficient.
But what I really look forward to when I’m reviewing realme’s camera app features is the Street Mode. It’s really good for mobile photography as it offers an array of filters you can choose from, depending on the vibe you’re trying to make.
But the realme C67’s camera features don’t stop at that. It also has a tilt-shift effect that I definitely had fun experimenting with.
Tilt shift photography is a creative type of photography that creates an illusion with big objects to make them look like miniatures.
If you’ve been spending a lot of time in Tiktok, then you’ve probably explored all sides of it. There are a number of content creators who produce tilt shift photography content, and I’ve been meaning to hop onto that train. Maybe, I could try that now.
A multitasker’s sidekick
In a coverage, I need to do three things: take notes, take pictures, and post live tweets, live photos, or live videos. So, you will either find me typing away on my phone or scouting the room to find a good angle of the presentation. Most of the time, I’m doing both simultaneously.
I was using the realme C67 for recording and note-taking to see how long it would take before it heats up. Switching from Google Docs to the recorder app and to the camera app, I took note of how there was no change in its temperature.
It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 which is said to make multitasking easy and gaming experience trouble-free.
Another feature that I find most useful in the device is its Mini Capsule 2.0 which uses the holepunch of the camera to create an expanding animation for me to see the charging battery status, data usage, and the step counter.
Users can also control the music player, get reminders, and check the weather through the mini capsule.
