PLDT Home is stepping up efforts to make work-from-home (WFH) setups more practical for Filipino households as rising fuel prices and inflation reshape daily routines.
Instead of treating home internet as a fixed expense, the company is making connectivity as a way to offset commuting costs. By removing upfront fees and increasing speeds, PLDT Home hopes to make remote work a more accessible option for both employees and freelancers.
For a certain period, PLDT Home waives the ₱3,600 installation fee, and offers temporary speed boosts for fiber subscribers. New users of Fiber Plan 1299 and above can get up to twice their usual speeds for six months, helping households handle video calls, file uploads, and other work-heavy tasks without upgrading plans immediately.
“Filipinos are among the most resilient people in the world, and we want to make it easier for them to navigate today’s challenges, especially amid ongoing global uncertainties,” said Menardo “Butch” Jimenez, Jr., chief operating officer and chief technology officer, PLDT. “This is why we continue to enhance our fiber products and services to better support the daily digital needs of the Filipino workforce.”
PLDT Home is offering its Always On modem free for six months to switching subscribers. The device automatically shifts to LTE when fiber service is interrupted, reducing the risk of dropped meetings or missed deadlines.
“Families need a reliable fiber connection to work from home, stay productive, and connected to what matters most,” Jimenez said.
Beyond internet access, PLDT Home is bundling lifestyle perks to extend the value of its plans. These include free Cignal entertainment, a one-year IGV Game Pass subscription, and discounts on select Samsung home appliances.
For users who prefer flexibility over long-term contracts, the company is also upgrading its Fiber Prepaid offers. Speeds now go up to 100 Mbps and 300 Mbps, with load options ranging from daily to yearly plans. The longest package brings costs down to about ₱19.17 per day for speeds of up to 50 Mbps.
