Sony Philippines has urged consumers to purchase cameras, lenses and accessories only from its authorized dealers, following reports of unauthorized resellers offering Sony products in the country.
In a public advisory posted on its official Facebook page, the company said it has received concerns from customers regarding unauthorized dealers. Sony warned that buying from unofficial sellers could affect product quality assurance, warranty coverage and eligibility for after-sale services.
“To ensure your satisfaction with product quality, warranty rights, and eligibility for after-sale services, we encourage everyone to only purchase Sony cameras, lenses, and accessories from the authorized Sony dealers,” the company said.
Sony also released a list of 23 authorized dealers and distributors in the Philippines. These include Abenson, Aperture/Shutter Master Pro, AVID Sony Centre, Camera Commons, Camerahaus, Henry’s Cameras, Macy’s Camera Shop, Mayer Photo, Photoline, PRG Photo Shop, SM Appliances, SM Gadgets and Solid Video Corporation, among others.
The company emphasized that purchasing from authorized stores helps ensure customers receive genuine Sony products and are covered by local warranty and after-sales support.
Sony encouraged the public to report suspected unauthorized resellers through its official contact page, adding that it “expressly reserves its legal rights” against unauthorized reselling or distribution of Sony products.
